Miishe, which means ‘happiness’ in Ga, has been established to bring happiness and joy to audiences across Yorkshire through African music and dance.

Nii Kwartey Owoo is a UK based Ghanaian musician, choreographer and African dance and music lecturer. Nii was given the title Custodian of Culture by his elders at the age of 12, a role that he has since carried with him and one that continues to influence his artistic practice.

Kweku Ananse Showcase last night at Leeds Central Library in - it was wonderful to see Ananse again connecting with new audiences, a truly multicultural and intergenerational event.
