RoCo Dramatic Society

RoCo Dramatic Society RoCo is an Amateur Dramatics society based in Roundhay, Leeds 🎭 We like to stage a wide variety of plays, from comedies to classics, mysteries to musicals.

RoCo is an amateur dramatics society held at St Andrew’s United Reformed Church in Roundhay, Leeds. The drama group was formed in 1963 when St Andrew’s was previously known as Roundhay Congregational Church, hence the name 'RoCo'. We put on two plays a year, typically in March and November, performed over three nights. We also produce a Murder Mystery in the summer, which is typically performed over two nights with the audience seated at tables, café style. Our rehearsals take place on Monday and Thursday evenings, starting from 7.30pm. RoCo has been going for a very long time. Since our formation in 1963 a great many people have raised the flats, hoisted the curtain rigging, donned their costumes and trodden the boards across countless numbers of shows!

Members of RoCo are looking to create a RoCo Archive, sourcing as many materials as possible from across the society’s more than 60 year history... and we need your help!

A big thank you to all who attended the audition for our November 2026 murder mystery a few days ago - it was great to see so many of you there, and so many new faces too!

We will be staging Beware The House On Haunted Hill, a campy comedy adapted by Matthew Byrd & Kathryn Funkhouser from the 1959 horror film 'House on Haunted Hill' starring Vincent Price. The production will be produced by Mary Shalvey & Harriet-Lee Glover.

The play is cast and rehearsals are starting from today. Further details including ticket information will be announced in the near future, for now make sure to save the performance dates in your diaries...

Beware The House On Haunted Hill will be staged on; Thursday 19th (7:30pm), Friday 20th (7:30pm) and Saturday 21st (2:30pm & 7:30pm) November 2026.

📆 The audition is on Monday 7th September 2026 at 7:30pm (arrive in good time as the session may start without you).
