📣NEW WORKSHOP DATES RELEASED!

Together with Leeds People’s Theatre, we have another exciting opportunity for adults (18+) to develop skills and confidence in performance!

Further to some sessions we held earlier this summer, we are delighted to be back in September for the final two workshops in this current programme, where we welcome adults of all ages and backgrounds to explore different performance techniques covering movement, vocal skills, text work and character development.

You can sign up for one or both workshops, but as places are limited, please only sign up for sessions you’re confident you’ll be able to attend. Thank you.

These sessions will be held by our very own Morven Macbeth, a highly experience actor and theatre-maker (and all round good egg)!

Coming to Holbeck Moor on Friday afternoon at 2pm, as part of our series of FREE More On The Moor events, we’re excited to welcome the fantastic Wrongsemble with their latest family show Rapunzel!

Golden-haired Rapunzel is trapped in her lofty tower by a wicked witch, who lops off the locks of her beautiful hair and sells them for a tidy profit. It’s time for Rapunzel to take charge of her own destiny and figure out a way to escape!

Award winning family theatre company Wrongsemble bring you this brand new theatrical adventure, brimming full with music, magic and mad-cap schemes - and not a prince in sight!

Based on an adaptation of the much-loved storybook version of Rapunzel by Beth Woollvin.

This is a FREE family show, suitable for everyone aged 3+, and the outdoor performance lasts 50 minutes, no interval.

Making a welcome return to The Warehouse in Holbeck, Slung Low Shorts is back with 6 brand new plays!

Celebrating some fantastic new writing, there’s truly something for everyone (aged 14+ that is)!

Generations clash in a birdwatching hide.
Young love blossoms in a high place.
A Roundhead clashes with a Cavalier over a woman, much to his wife’s annoyance.
A blind date turns murderous; but who is the stalker and who is the prey?
A family’s prejudice over an unexpected pregnancy threatens to tear them apart.
Love and serial killing mean never having to say you’re sorry.

Had the best time today down at Holbeck Gala! Huge thanks to everyone who came over to say hello and try on one (or five) of these fantastic theatre costumes! We had a lot of fun and some great conversations too. Brilliant to see so many people out & about in Holbeck enjoying the day☀️

Shout out as well to these two legends Thananya 🇹🇭🦋 & .gardner (who together have just established .two.magpies - more from them soon we’ve no doubt!) who joined us for the day, bringing along their fabulous array of hats, props, masks, wigs, costumes, a fox tail (the fox tail was a BIG hit today🦊) and more!

Huge thanks to everyone who took part in FLYING HIGH: Creating Flags of Awe & Wonder!

It’s been a truly WONDER-full process of conversation, writing, drawing, collaging, sketching, photographing, designing, waxing, painting, dyeing, double-waxing (yep, a new one on us!), drying and now the THIRTY stunning flags which people from across our South Leeds community have made will be sent down to Kinetika ~ Design That Moves studio for the final stage when flag-pole pockets will be stitched on to each one.

More on the next steps for the project soon👀

Also a massive shout out to our brilliant Associate Artists on the project .gardner Sascha Gilmour and Kate Marshall who all brought so much energy, expertise and generosity to the process.

And of course, to the whole team Kinetika ~ Design That Moves and particularly to Ali Pretty who brought the seed of an idea to such glorious life!

FREE creative workshops for adults from across South Leeds happening this week at The Warehouse in Holbeck are well & truly underway, as we are FLYING HIGH: Creating Flags of Awe & Wonder🎨🖌️🤩

Join us for silk flag painting & waxing, using batik techniques, in these creative sessions facilitated by the wonderful Ali Pretty Kinetika ~ Design That Moves alongside our fantastic Associate Artists who have been working with us over the course of the project .gardner Sascha Gilmour and Kate Marshall
