We're delighted to welcome Jonathan Macdonald as the new Chair of our Board of Trustees.
Jonathan brings a rare combination: thirty-five years at the top of international finance, and a genuine, lifelong devotion to the piano — he still plays every single day. He first watched The Leeds from his parents' sofa in the late 1970s, and now he's stepping up to help steward Sir Stephen Hough's artistic innovations into being ahead of 2027.
We're also hugely grateful to Ken Beaty, who steps down after six remarkable years as Chair — years in which he oversaw a complete overhaul of our strategy, funding and governance, driving the tenfold growth in our global digital audience and our deepest community impact yet across Yorkshire.
Welcome, Jonathan — we can't wait to see what we build together.
