About Beginners:

Suitable for those that have a basic knowledge of tap dance and or have completed our tap fundamental course or pre recorded tutorials. This adult class will work on practicing and developing your confidence with the basics of tap dance and rhythms. About Improvers:

Developing you

r technique and vocabulary of steps, these classes include a mixture of technical exercises and fun simple routines using a wide range of musical styles, from the traditional to the latest pop track. About Inter/Adv Class:

This class is suitable for all ages of dancers who have studied tap previously to Grade 5 level or above. We mix technical exercises with routines incorporating different styles of dance to a wide variety of music from the latest pop track to a musical theatre classic. All our classes are free work and include steps such as: wings, pick ups, cramp rolls, rattles, pull backs, paddles, riffs and close work. So if you fancy some toe tapping rhythms this is the class for you! Fundamental courses for complete beginners run at intervals throughout the year and our pre recorded tutorials are a available to download at your leisure for practicing at home.

👞 Tapathon 2024 Details & Workshop 👞

Join us and many others across the country on Sunday 17th November for this year's Tapathon for Children in Need! This is one of our favourite events of the year, taking part in the world record attempt for the most people doing the same tap routine at the exact same time across the country, whilst raising money for an amazing cause. This year's routine is to the absolute 90's classic, Spice Up Your Life!🌶

The event will take place between 12:30-1:30pm here at the studio, where we will take part in a quick warm up before running the routine twice through with the rest of the countries tappers!🙌🏼

To take part in the Tapathon all participants must make a donation of £10 and you will receive this year's Tapathon T-shirt, or you can opt for a sticker if not wanting a t-shirt. 👕

If you are interested please drop us a message (regular tappers have been emailed) and we will send you the bank details for the donation and take your t-shirt size for our order. T-shirt orders will be going in early October, so if you are interested please get in touch by the end of September so you don't miss out.😄

We will also be running a Tapathon workshop on Sunday 3rd November at 4-5:30pm, to learn the routine, as this unfortunately won't be covered in our Tuesday evening classes this year due to the Tapathon running around the same time as our annual showcase. If you can't make the workshop but would still like to take part, we can also send over the video to learn from, as well as notes if you would like to learn at home. Tap Refresher Workshop! 👞

Sunday 24th March, 3.30-5pm

Suitable for those who have done tap to a basic level previously, whether that be a few years ago or as a child, this 90 minute refresher workshop is the perfect way to recap some of the basic steps to give you confidence before joining us in our weekly Beginners+ class (Tuesdays at 8:30pm).

🥳Tapathon 2023🥳

Huge thank you to everyone who joined us today to take part in this years Tapathon for Children in Need!🤩

We had 21 tappers take part this year, learning a routine to Wham's Wake Me Up Before you Go Go, and performing it at the exact same time as lots of other tappers around the country, to attempt to break the Guiness World Record!👏

We wonder if this will be the year! 🤞

Hello Tappers!

Lot's going on here at The Dance Studio Leeds over the next few months including the annual Tapathon for Children in Need, plus our next Celebration of Dance Show!

All of our Show Performance Courses are now available to book. Whilst we are in rehearsals for our show our usual drop in classes will close and run as courses for those taking part in the show only. They will then reopen as normal the final week of November. The show is taking place at Leeds City College Quarry Hill Campus on Saturday 25th November with both a matinee & evening performance. All three of our tap classes will be involved with Intermediate-Advanced doing their own routine, and our Beginners and Improvers classes joining together to learn one routine. You can find all the details on rehearsal dates and booking up on our bookwhen.

If you wish to take part in this years Tapathon, we are holding some additional mini classes along side our show rehearsals this year, so that you can still get involved and learn the routine before the Tapathon on Sunday the 19th November (between 12:30-1:30pm) These classes will take place on Tuesdays from the 17th October - 14th November at 7:25-7:55pm. If you wish to get involved but can't make the classes do let us know as we are happy for people to learn from the videos sent by the Performers Project.
