Huge thank you to the fantastic National Coal Mining Museum for England for welcoming the incredible Brassed Off company! 🎺

Bringing the spirit of this iconic story back to its roots, the visit celebrated the rich heritage of coal mining communities and the enduring power of brass band music. From exploring the underground galleries to connecting with the stories that inspired the original film and stage production, it was a truly special experience for all involved.

A big shout out to Rob, Bob & Roger - two ex-miners and a former Fire Service colleague - who gave us incredible insight. They shared what a day in the life was really like: from clocking in, collecting your kit and travelling deep underground, to enjoying your ‘snap’ (perhaps in a tin or just a sandwich tucked into a bread bag), and finally heading back up to scrub down in the pit baths.

Brilliant day - now to rehearsals to put it all into action!

Calling all Whos💚

Do you know a young performer full of festive cheer (even though it’s only May)?

Leeds Playhouse is casting a children’s ensemble of Whos – including the key role of Cindy Lou Who – for Dr. Seuss’s How The Grinch Stole Christmas! The Musical.
If you know a young person who loves to sing, act, and share a little Christmas spirit (even with grumpy green folk whose hearts are two sizes too small), we’d love to see them!
