Tonight is opening night for California Connections. Be sure to get your tickets if you haven't already! The third performance of this mixed-bill is Meta 4.

Bella Lewitzky choreographed this boldly sculptural and physically demanding performance to an original score by Robert Xavier Rodriguez in 1994.

Completing the programme is a new work by Yorke Dance Project's Artistic Director Yolande Yorke-Edgell which is inspired by the power of these three women and the essence of their enduring legacies.

Yorke Dance Project's California Connections premières tomorrow. Today we're highlighting the second performance in the programme: Errand into the Maze.

Martha Graham created this masterpiece in 1947, exploring the depths of human fear and sexual power struggles, based on the legends of Ariadne, Theseus and the Minotaur.

The première of Yorke Dance Project's California Connections is only a few days away! In the run-up, we're highlighting each of the performances that you can expect to see on the night.

Opening the mixed-bill is Isadora. Sir Kenneth MacMillan's tribute to Isadora Duncan is reimagined and distilled into a new one-act, chamber work exploring the conflict between Isadora's search for love and her pioneering mission to change the art of dance.

We're less than a week away from parler femme premiering at the Stanley & Audrey Burton Theatre. With that in mind, we wanted to delve a bit more into the company behind the project: Tala Lee-Turton Ballet

Tala Lee-Turton is a British Chinese creative producer for dance on stage and on screen, originally from Barnsley. In 2016, Tala made history by being the third British female graduate of the world-famous Bolshoi Ballet. She focuses on producing innovative female-led works and is building a repertoire of original pieces that connect creatives and audiences with powerful dance experiences that challenge social and cultural boundaries. In 2020, Tala founded Tala Lee-Turton Productions and has gone on to produce a number of projects whilst collaborating with diverse, multi-disciplinary and empowered creatives, including parler femme.

parler femme is a multimedia triple-bill that celebrates innovative and inspiring stories about women. It's set to be an unmissable night so be sure to book your tickets now!
