Acorn, one of the UK’s leading staging and structures providers, is looking for experienced Yard Operatives to join our team at our HQ in Sherburn in Elmet.

We work on some of the UK’s biggest events and productions including:

We’re looking for hardworking, practical individuals with experience in areas such as:
🔨 Joinery / woodworking
⚙ Welding & fabrication
🎨 Paint spraying
💡 Electrical equipment & PAT testing
⛺ PVC / marquee materials
🚛 Loading & unloading equipment
🛠 General yard operations

Experience in scaffolding, construction or the events industry is beneficial.

🚧 We’re Hiring: Storesperson – Join Acorn Event Structures! 🎪
At Acorn Event Structures, we’re proud to be one of the UK’s leading suppliers of temporary structures and staging for major festivals and live events across the UK and Europe. From large-scale productions to touring shows, we help bring events to life.
If you enjoy a fast-paced environment, like taking ownership, and want to play a key role behind the scenes of some of the biggest live events — we want to hear from you!

📦 The Role: Storesperson
We’re looking for a reliable and proactive Storesperson to join our team on a full-time, permanent basis. This role includes flexibility, with one evening per week and participation in a weekend rota.

🔧 What You’ll Be Doing
• Managing stock levels of consumables (paint, fuel, PPE, fixings, etc.)
• Monitoring and reordering stock for Yard and Event projects
• Liaising with Yard, Project, and Operations teams
• Booking stock in/out and maintaining accurate records
• Tracking tools and equipment using internal systems
• Keeping the storeroom organised, clean, and efficient
• Handling goods inwards and dispatch
• Improving stock control systems and processes

✅ What We’re Looking For
• Strong organisation and attention to detail
• Hands-on, proactive approach (yard-based role)
• Experience in stores/warehouse environments
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
• Comfortable in a fast-paced setting
• Good communication and teamwork skills
• Construction or live events experience (a bonus!)
• Basic Sage/Excel knowledge (advantageous)
• Forklift licence (preferred)
• Full UK driving licence

💰 What You’ll Get
• £14–£17 per hour (depending on experience)
• Company pension (3% or salary exchange)
• 21 days holiday + bank holidays
• Extra holiday with length of service
• Bike2Work scheme 🚴
• Flexible working (where possible)

⏰ Working Hours
• Full-time, permanent
• Standard hours: 07:45 – 17:15
• Seasonal flexibility required
