WOW… what a show day! 🥹🌾

I think I can safely speak on behalf of all our committee and volunteers when I say…what a day!!

We’ve only just got home, probably haven’t quite processed it all yet, and honestly don’t quite know where to start.

A huge thank you to every single person who came along to Arthington Show today. Whether you were a competitor, exhibitor, steward, judge, stall holder, volunteer, sponsor or simply came through the gates to enjoy the day a big thank you. ❤️

So much work goes on behind the scenes to make today happen, with people giving up their time before, during and after the show, and seeing the show field so busy today makes it all worth it.

A massive thank you to our sponsors too, whose support helps us continue putting on Arthington Show and keeping this little piece of Yorkshire tradition going.

We haven’t even had chance to look through our socials yet, never mind all the photos, but we absolutely cannot wait to see what everyone has captured! 📸

We really hope you all had as fabulous a day as we did.

For now, I think there are quite a few tired feet being put up tonight!

Last chance to get your tickets at the cheaper price! 🎟️

Online prices end at midnight tonight, then our show day prices kick in.

Adults £9 online → £12 on the day
Children 5–16 £4 → £6
Senior 65+ £4 → £6
Family ticket £20 → £28
Under 5s FREE

So if you’re coming along tomorrow, get them booked tonight and save yourself a few quid!

You can still pay on the gate tomorrow, so don’t panic if you haven’t pre-booked.

The final bits and bobs are going into place, the show field is filling up and we’re busy getting everything ready for a brilliant Arthington Show TOMORROW !

A huge thank you to all our helpers, volunteers, stewards, exhibitors and everyone else who has been working away behind the scenes. These little agricultural shows simply wouldn’t happen without you 💚

And there is SO much happening on the field tomorrow…

🐶 Fun Dog Show & Terrier Racing

🎪 Games, activities & plenty to keep the little ones busy

Then have a wander through the Produce & Horticultural Tent to see what everyone has been growing, baking and making this year, before having a nosey around our Indoor Market and outdoor trade stands.

And come hungry…
We’ve got cakes, bakes, brownies, cheese, Greek food, Scotch eggs, burgers, pizzas, milkshakes, spirits & liqueurs and plenty more dotted around the show field. Plus loads of lovely small businesses selling gifts, clothing, treats and all sorts of goodies.

Basically, a proper Yorkshire agricultural show day out! 🌾

Just a few more sleeps until the 106th Arthington Show and we’ve got SO much packed into one day!

Whether you’re coming for the animals, the food, the shopping or just a good old-fashioned Yorkshire day out, there really is something for everyone.

These are correct as of today but are pre-entry numbers only and are subject to change. We’re still receiving a few late entries and entries will also be taken on the day for applicable classes.

Entries can be taken on the day for applicable classes and must be made at least 30 minutes before the class is due to start.

And if you’re already entered, please do come along and support the other competitors and classes too. Every entry really does help us keep the Horse & Pony section thriving.

6 days to go until - Sunday 23rd August!

Horse & Pony Update ‼️
Following a review of the ground conditions, we have made the decision to cancel Classes 228 & 229 (70cm & 80cm Show Jumping) due to the ground currently being too hard.

With rain forecast this week, we’re hopeful that conditions will be suitable for the smaller jumping classes to go ahead as planned. 🌧️🤞🏼

Due to the cancelled classes, we have also reviewed the timetable:
Class 223 – 9am
Class 224 – 10am
Class 225 – 11am
Class 226 – 12pm
Class 227 – 1pm
Class 230 – approx. 1.30pm

We appreciate that the revised times may now clash with other classes you have entered, so we will of course do our best to accommodate competitors where this happens.

Thank you for your understanding.
We’re keeping everything crossed for a little Yorkshire rain this week! So we can have a little bit of sunshine on Sunday ☀️☔️🐴

Yes, we are most definitely dog friendly! 🐾

Our Fun Dog Show is back again this year after being so popular in previous years, with plenty of classes for all shapes, sizes and personalities… including the naughty ones!

Classes start from 11am and entries will be taken on the day BY Stefs Pet Pantry stand at the dog ring, so no need to pre-enter.
Just bring your dog along and get involved!

We’ll also have terrier racing running throughout the day, which is always great fun to watch (and even better to take part in!).

Rosettes are up for grabs, plus goodie bags supplied by Just ‘Ere Fot Treats, and all our 1st placed doggies will be invited back for Best in Show 🏆🐶

Not doing anything next Sunday? 👀 We need you! 💚

Arthington Show is nearly here and we’re looking for a few more helpers, volunteers and stewards to give us a hand on Sunday 23rd August.

Whether you can spare a couple of hours or a little longer, every extra pair of hands makes a huge difference. In return for helping us out, you’ll get FREE entry to the show to enjoy the rest of your day with us! 🙌

You could be helping with parking, on a gate, stewarding, pointing visitors in the right direction or simply being an extra pair of hands where we need one.

Our committee is only small and everyone volunteers their time. Shows like Arthington don't survive simply because they've been around for over 100 years they survive because local people continue to support them. 💚
So if you fancy getting involved, helping your local show and having a good day out at the same time, we’d love to hear from you.
