From Disconnection to Connection

From Disconnection to Connection We are exploring well-being through feelings of connection, using film & creative workshops. (Leeds) This is our arts project: From Disconnection to Connection.

During 2022 we took part in an arts programme called Union in Leeds, and as part of this we have been given the opportunity to complete a project, and this is ours! We are hoping to explore the theme of disconnection and connection, through the making of a short, low-budget documentary alongside facilitating some creative workshops. The idea for this came out of a conversation we had about lonelin

ess. We found we'd had feelings of disconnection, not just from others, but also from ourselves, or parts of ourselves, from nature, from the world around us, or the present moment. We wondered if these were common experiences. We asked ourselves: What do we feel disconnected from? What do we want to connect to? Is there anything we want to disconnect from? When do we feel most connected and involved in our lives and when do we feel less so? How can we connect to ourselves more? We thought that we'd like to explore how others felt and reflect these feelings in a short film. We hope by creating a space and shining a light on this subject, we can start a conversation.
