Tldr no in person event this week

Sup everyone, my (the presidents) flat have started showing covid symptoms. As such, we've decided to postpone this week as I can't be there to setup or supply controllers. As it is currently the vice president would be able to supply 1 guitar hero controller, which would be lame for everyone.
It's not currently decided if we'll do something in its stead this week or just outright postpone in person for the coming weeks.

We're still looking for extra controllers, we'd ideally want a full plastic band of button mashing goodness.

Happy New year Folks! Hope you all had a great time with exams weeks. For Our first few casual Night of the year, We are hoping to do something a little different, rhythm game nights! Starting with Guitar Hero! Our issue is that we only have 2 controllers. So we are putting out an open call to see if anyone has any form of guitar hero controller that they might be able to let us borrow for this event.

TLDR: minecraft server, open to all students, DM for whitelist and ip

Hi all, we've teamed up with Leeds University eSports and Video Games Society and Leeds beckett Gaming Society to make a shared Minecraft sever for all students of leeds.

this sever is Funded and managed by leeds beckett
rules, membership, and any internal factors are decided directly by them.

the server is open to all students, but can only be joined via whitelist to prevent griefers. you can join easily by DM our page for more details or dropping a message on the minecraft section of our discord server.

we hope this is the beginning of a longer partnership with the various Gaming societies around Leeds, and will attempt to run more events between the 3 societies.

"Today I'm happy to announce Leeds beckets new and updated Minecraft server in conjunction with University of Leeds and Leeds Conservatoire! I hope this is a step in the direction of a more cohesive atmosphere between all the students of Leeds!

We've tried to maintain a vanilla feel but added some quality of life changes and some community suggestions! The plugins/changes we included are:
Essentials
BetterSleeping
MCMMO
ChestLocking
Creeper block damage off
Difficulty normal

Due to us opening up the server to people outside of Beckett, we're going to be adding some precautions - a whitelist and some anti-grief plugins. If you wish to play the server, ["DM this page, or message in our discord sever"], this is so we can keep track of who is who in case of major rule-breaking. We have no set in stone rules, but we'd just like to ask you treat everyone with respect, ask before taking peoples items and keep any mischievous activity between friends!

We'll be officially launching the server at 6pm on Saturday, so if you can make it there for a little bit of gaming it'd be awesome! There will be no special event going on, just a unified time for everyone that's interested 🙂

The server is open to anyone and also your friends! So if you want them in too, we'll add them!

We're constantly looking for feedback so if you wish for something added, post it in minecraft or dm me!"

TLDR
game audio professional talk Tuesday 12th 6:30pm on discord

this coming Tuesday at 6:30 we'll be having our first talk with a industry professional video game sound designer,
Lewis MacDonald (lcon alumni) has agreed to do a talk and show some demonstrations on working in game audio, with examples of the software and though process used.
most likely be using our discord server too host this live (tbc)
this session will be recorded and later posted in our discord for archiving.
