JazzLeeds

JazzLeeds JazzLeeds is an award winning independent jazz promoter. JazzLeeds promote over 100 concerts per year mainly at Seven Arts in Chapel Allerton, Leeds.

Our programme features music by local, national and international artists and we also support jazz in local schools, jazz workshops, and community jazz events. We also run jazz workshops for instrumentalists, and vocalists, promote jazz events as part of both the Chapel Allerton Festival and the Leeds Jazz Festival. We support jazz education in three local high schools. Jazzleeds have picked up a

couple of awards on the way– "Yorkshire Jazz Club of the year" from Jazz Yorkshire in 2012 and best UK Jazz Club in the Parliamentary Jazz award in 2016.

This Sunday - at the first of our summer jazz in the courtyard sessions at Seven Arts Leeds we present the superb Conrad Clenton Nonet playing music inspired by jazz bassist Charles Mingus. Comprised of some of the finest of young Leeds musicians, the nonet amplifies its members’ powerful voices by pushing the sonic boundaries of improvised music whilst rooted in the rich blues tradition. Special guest vocalist is Amy Clark.

1.30pm -3.30pm Sunday 21 June in the Seven Arts courtyard - weather looking nice and warm and sunny.

Payf collection - all money goes to the band. Get there early for a good seat!

Sax player Toby Greenwood at Rush Hour Jazz is with us on 1 July, then local jazz organ favourites The Rhythm Section on 8th July and the wonderful vocals of Em Brown on 15 July.
