huge thank you to Even The Stars for the lovely words following Ed Cosens headline show at Mill Hill last weekend, with support from Tom Bright + Oliver Pinder.

'It's our first visit to Mill Hill Chapel in Leeds, we've innocuously walked past it many times on the way from Leeds Station to venues further into town, but had never stumbled across this hidden gem. With pew seating and lit by candles as well as subtle lighting and with sound that would put many church venues to shame, it's a perfect space for an acoustic show where audience is here to sit and listen to all three artists and not just the headliner.'

we are super honoured to welcome Christian Lee Hutson to Mill Hill Chapel on Sunday 20th August 🌟

we have been long time fans of Christian's music, and we highly recommend you don't miss this one.

On his ANTI- Records debut Beginners, Los Angeles-based singer/songwriter Christian Lee Hutson embeds every lyric with his most intimate self-dialogue, sharing painful confessions and private jokes, imagined conversations and elaborate daydreams. The album—produced by his friend and collaborator Phoebe Bridgers—spotlights a nuanced songcraft and understated candor that all but erases the distance
between feeling and expression. Throughout this collection of songs, Hutson ultimately speaks an illuminating truth about regret and forgiveness and the endless confusion in growing up.

tickets are on sale Wednesday 21st June at 10am.

delighted to announce the additional artists for our show with Opheliah on July 1st!

we will be treated to sets from two more Leeds artists:

Zoe Cure :

Inspired by the likes of Laura Marling + Adrienne Lenker, singer-songwriter Zoe Cure tethers herself to the world through song at its most intimate and imperfect best. After cultivating her sound in private for many years, the release of her debut single 'Between the glass' in September 2022 was the result of her slow growth into confidence and a willingness to find strength in vulnerability. With soft vocals, haunting melodies and lyrics that ache, her artfully crafted songs explore all things felt and invisible; from universal grief to personal joy and all the spaces inbetween. Following her recently released EP ‘Two Piano Songs’, Zoe anticipates the announcement of her first full-length album before the end of this year.

Braithe:

Brand new project from Leeds singer-songwriter, Harry Ridgeway.

On Saturday 17th June, we welcome Ed Cosen to Mill Hill for a headline show, with support from Tom Bright 🌟

Ed’s debut record ‘Fortunes Favour’ was released in 2021 to critical acclaim and with his second album all but done, this is a chance to hear some of those new songs first!

A creative catalyst for over a decade in Reverend And The Makers, Ed has enjoyed a rich musical life, creating hit songs and albums, playing shows across the world, without many truly understanding the significance of his influence and vision.

Ed’s music brings together the culmination of many years honing his craft and is bursting with tremolo-rich, strings-soaked melody. Plangent chord progressions and mournful tones pair with poetic reflections on life’s twists and turns. Shades of The Beatles, Echo & The Bunnymen and Richard Hawley snake in and out. Cosens is a key – though perhaps somewhat overlooked – figure in Sheffield’s culture-changing, musical explosion of the mid 2000's and a mainstay of the Sheffield scene ever since.
