Sometimes the words won't come on paper. But they'll come in a scene. 🎭

Helen has been using drama to help young people for 30 years. This Dyslexia Week, she shares how it helped a GCSE student who was struggling to write and struggling to be heard at home.

Using Forum Theatre, they acted out real conversations, paused, and tried new ways of responding. No pressure, no fallout, just a safe space to practise.

When it was time to write, the ideas were ready. The result? A strong exam answer and a much calmer, happier young person. 💛

Sometimes, the quietest children carry the biggest stories. 💛

Helen Kenworthy grew up surrounded by the impact of poor mental health, yet her struggles went unnoticed at school. She remembers being the quiet, shy girl who stayed in her own little bubble.

Happy National Poetry Day! ✨📖

A tiny poem for every child who thinks they "can't write":
I had a thought inside my head,
too big, too loud, too shy, I said.
I drew it first, then gave it words,
and now my story's being heard.

Some children love writing. Some avoid it completely. Some have brilliant imaginations but find it hard to get the words onto paper.
