Some young people do not need to be pushed.

They need to feel safe enough to begin.

What may look like hesitation can sometimes be anxiety. What may look like silence can be a young person trying to work out whether the space is safe for them.

At RYTC Creatives CIC (The RYTC), creativity gives young people another way in.

Through theatre, film, music, storytelling and creative activities, young people can take small steps towards confidence without feeling rushed or overwhelmed.

Sometimes the most powerful support is not, “Go on, do it.”

It is, “I’ll do it with you.”

That is where confidence can begin.

Learning does not only happen in a classroom.

This week, we are focusing on a reflection Helen shared about how learning can happen anywhere when it is personal, flexible and connected to real life.

That message sits at the heart of RYTC Creatives CIC (The RYTC).

Through theatre, film, storytelling and performance, young people are given space to learn by doing. They build confidence, communication, teamwork and self-belief in a way that feels real.

Sometimes growth begins in the moment a young person joins in, shares an idea, tries a line, supports someone else or realises, “I did that.”

For the brilliantly underestimated, this matters deeply.

Some young people need a different kind of space for their strengths to be seen. Creative arts can offer that space.

At RYTC Creatives CIC (The RYTC), we too are proud of our young creators.

Every scene they build, every idea they share, and every brave step they take reminds us why creative spaces matter.

Can we make more room for young people to be themselves, while also helping them understand that their choices affect others?

This week, we are talking about choices.

The choices we make when we are frustrated.
The choices we make when we are rushing.
The choices we make when we forget that other people are affected by what we do.

For young people, this is such an important part of growing up.

They need space to express themselves, but they also need support to understand impact. Not through shame. Not through lectures. But through reflection, conversation and safe opportunities to see things from another point of view.

That is where creativity can help.

Through drama, storytelling and role play, young people can explore what happens when someone listens, interrupts, supports, reacts or pauses. They can begin to see that choices carry meaning.

For the brilliantly underestimated, this kind of creative space matters. It gives young people room to be themselves, while also helping them grow in awareness of others.

🌿 Ever felt like your brain is full and you just need a moment?

Maybe you do not want to explain everything.
Maybe you do not have the words yet.
Maybe you just need to move, breathe, step away or do something creative.

This week’s theme is listening to your body.

In Helen’s reflection, she talks about enjoying a full-on learning session, but then realising her brain needed space and her body needed fresh air, movement and time to let everything settle.

That matters for young people too.

At RYTC Creatives CIC (The RYTC), creativity gives young people a different way to express what they may be feeling inside.

Through drama, storytelling, role play, performance and creative arts, they can move, imagine, take part and begin to find their voice in a way that feels natural.

Because sometimes, creativity is not about having all the answers.

Sometimes, it is simply a way to breathe, reset and come back to yourself.

What’s the most important moment in your story? 👀✨

The tension has been building.
The journey has unfolded.

Now it’s time for the biggest moment of all.

On Day 4 of the Young Authors journey, guides young writers as they plan the climax of their story,
the moment where something amazing, magical or fantastical happens.

Maybe it’s a great discovery.
Maybe it’s a huge celebration.
Maybe it’s the moment everything finally changes.

If your story were a mountain,
this would be the very top.

The part that keeps readers excited.
The part everything has been building towards.

Because every great story needs a moment that feels unforgettable.
