Started a new little study today, thank you for the encouragement, enjoying the process so we'll see what happens.

For anyone who wants to have a go I'm working on watercolour paper with an acrylic ink wash background. The painting is in oil paints but if you prefer working in acrylics that would work too.

Trying something different!
Feeling really tired after the week so I get annoyed with myself when I struggle to create.
As you know I avoid portraiture but always want to do it so these are unfinished studies to build ideas.

Meet Presley! An absolute pleasure to capture this special boy who sadly crossed the rainbow bridge.
His face is full of epression, looking out of the window from the sofa.

This piece is my smallest size at 15 x 20 cm. I always add extra for framing ease.
✏️ ClaireFontaine pastel mat, you can't tell from this but it's NOT smooth, has quite a grain to hold onto the pastel so any smaller pieces the details would be tricky.
✏️ CarbOthello, Derwent and Fabre Castell pastel pencils.
✏️ Always cleaned up, wrapped in glassine paper with certificate of authenticity and instructions for care and framing.

Hello all! Apologies for being quiet, you know how busy the end of the year can be! Just a sample of creative things I achieved before Christmas which included a robin (sold), Christmas decorations and some personalised gifts for little ones.

Having fun experimenting with texture and colour.
No pressure
Just playing with colour
Small canvases prepared with textured paint and then the fun of blending beautiful colours.
Considering adding gold to the texture which I have done in the past, will post that sample next.

Meet Livvy! A much loved horse that unfortunately passed away suddenly last year after 25 years of love from Abi. Her husband, Neil approached me before Christmas about creating a memorial piece as Abi didn't have many special photos of her. Abi was gifted Livvy a couple of weeks ago for her birthday and this is what Neil messaged me:
"She loves it Becky! Floods of tears (even I got a little dust in my eye seeing her reaction) but worth it. Thanks so much for doing it, going to be lovely for Abi to have something to remember her by."

I don't aim to make people cry but so happy she likes her picture of Livvy. 🥰

After a long week I've managed to grab some time to try and finish this little robin off and prep some canvases with some textured paint. I've also got back to an enquiry about a commission so not a bad rainy Sunday.

Trying something new! Well not really...before creating animal portraits, way back, I use to do a lot of abstract paintings. Always loved experimenting with colour, texture and mark making.
Seeing as life is even busier I treated myself to having a go at a small experiment today and loved creating it, not sure if it's finsihed, might mess around with it some more.
Try something new now and again!
