Jenkins School of Highland Dancing Highland Dance School Our Highland Dance School offers a warm and welcoming family friendly learning environment.

Based in Airth and Camelon the S.O.H.D.A
multi-championship winning Jenkins School of Highland Dancing was established by sisters Alison and Laura Jenkins both past champions in their own right. We welcome pupils from the age of 3 years and upwards. Many of our highland dancers compete at competitions and Highland Games all over Scotland while other pupils come to our dancing lessons just to lea

rn the dances, socialise, make new friends as well as keeping fit. We encourage all of our dancers to sit SOHDA examinations giving any pupil the help and support they may require to progress through all the examination levels from pre-primary to the full teachers exam.

✨ Massive Congratulations to Ella ✨

Today at the Dancers Against Cancer Competition, Ella achieved her final qualifying gold in Intermediate, which means she’ll now be moving up to the Open section — the highest level in Highland dancing! What an incredible achievement 🏆💙

Ella has an amazing work ethic. From the day she started class, she recognised the importance of home practice and has always been willing to put in the extra effort to improve. She takes on board every correction she is given and works hard to apply those changes to her dancing, which has played a huge part in her success.

As well as being a dedicated dancer, Ella is a beautiful performer with so much natural talent. It has been wonderful to watch her progress through the sections and develop into the dancer she is today.

Moving from Intermediate to Open is the biggest and most challenging move, but with Ella’s attitude, determination and work ethic, we know she will embrace the challenge and continue to thrive.

We are so proud of you, Ella, and this achievement is thoroughly deserved. Congratulations on reaching Open — we can’t wait to support you as you take on this exciting new challenge and continue to grow as a dancer 💙✨

🦋🎀 Dancers Against Cancer Competition 🎀🦋

Today many of our dancers attended the Dancers Against Cancer Competition, a fantastic event held in aid of Cancer Research UK.

A huge well done to everyone who took part and supported such a worthwhile cause. It was wonderful to see so many dancers coming together to support the event, and it proved to be a very successful day for the school, with lots of prizes and silverware coming home!

A special mention also goes to former pupil Louise C, who danced with the school for many years before heading off to university, for winning the Adult Highland Trophy 🏆

It was lovely to see both Louise and senior pupil Kate C supporting this fantastic competition, with both dancers achieving some excellent results throughout the day. 💙💙

Finally, thank you and congratulations to the DAC organisers and volunteers for putting on such an amazing event. We know how much hard work goes on behind the scenes to make a competition like this happen, and we can’t wait to hear the grand total raised for Cancer Research UK! 🦋🎀

💙 Fundraising Success 💙

Today we held a special fundraising class, with dancers invited to come along in their pyjamas and bring their favourite teddy bears, while parents were invited to observe the class.

A huge thank you to everyone who got involved, whether by attending, donating, or purchasing teams on the football cards.

Last night, our gorgeous pupil Freya attended her S6 Prom from Grangemouth High School at Glenskirlie Castle. ✨

Freya looked stunning in black as she celebrated this special occasion with her friends and classmates.

In September, Freya hopes to begin studying Politics, History and Professional Education, with the goal of one day becoming a teacher. We are incredibly proud of all that she has achieved and are excited to see where this next chapter takes her.

Tonight, it’s the turn of our Senior Pupil, Jeyda, who is attending her S6 Prom at St Mungo’s High School. ✨

Jeyda looks absolutely stunning in her beautiful red dress as she celebrates this special milestone with her classmates.

Big congratulations to Mia, our May Star of the Month! 🌟💙

Mia has shown fantastic concentration in class. She listens carefully, remembers corrections from week to week, and does a great job of applying the feedback she is given.

Her hard work is paying off, and it’s been wonderful to see her progress in both technique and confidence.

A huge thank you to Esme, Harlie, Mia, Emmylou and Kenzi, who gave up part of their Saturday to put on a display for the residents of Newcarron Court Care Home. 💙

We hope the residents enjoyed the performance and the opportunity to see some highland dancing, and we’re grateful to the girls for representing the school so well within the local community.

Thank you also to the parents for giving up their time to transport and support the dancers, and to Kristen for organising the visit.
