Falkirk & District Art Club Falkirk & District Art Club is a community art group created on 15th January 1965. We are a friendly and supportive group and no experience is necessary. ❤️

We meet Monday evenings September till May at Larbert Cross Church Hall from 7pm. Falkirk & District Art Club is an active organisation created on 15th January 1965 with the purpose of promoting the fine arts in Falkirk District.

It's a beautiful day here in Falkirk and the sun is shining 🥳
Today officially kicks off the start of Open Studios Falkirk week! Over the next 7 days you can explore a number of art venues across the Falkirk area. Each venue will showcase the unique talents of a wide range of artists from sculpture, textiles, design and visual art (and more I can't think of 😆)
Falkirk & District Art Club will be participating next Saturday 12th Sept from 12 - 5pm at Larbert Cross Church (more details on the map in the photos)
Here's a flavour of our final 2 artists from our talented group that will be there next week with their incredible work 🤩

Terri Innes Lyon - I'm a Plein air artist who primarily paints landscapes in oils though I also love to paint birds and still lifes. I also enjoy using oil pastels and watercolour for these subjects, and I particularly enjoy sketchbook practice and experimentation.

Janet Kotchie - I like to work in pastels,watercolour and Polychrome pencils.

Just 17 days until Falkirk & District Art Club participate in Open Studios Falkirk 2026 (5-13th September)!
Along with 24 other participants in 12 venues, we'll be there on the 12th of September to exhibit and discuss our work as well as share our art practice 👌

We're based at Larbert Cross Church hall and will be there from 12 to 5pm! Pop it in your diary 🥰

To give you an idea of some of the artists in our club we've been sharing select pieces and a bit about our talented members. Here's today's artists 😍

Susanne Ferguson - I am an aspiring new artist based in the central belt. I work in various mediums including acrylics, oils, printmaking and mixed media.
Sandy Harvie - I have been painting since my early 20s, 50 odd years ago. With the exception of oils, I use most mediums but am happiest using acrylics. My choice of subjects are very varied, everything from animals, people, boats and abstracts, whatever floats my boat at that moment!

We are taking part in Open Studios Falkirk 2026 (5-13th September) along with 24 other participants in 12 venues.

We will have our Open Studio Day on the 12th Sept at Larbert Church from 12 to 5pm. We will be introducing the participating artists over the next couple of weeks.

Our next two artist are

Margaret Hall - I am a local artist, influenced by the impressionists but driven by colour when painting. My usual mediums is acrylic with plein air sketches completed in watercolour.

Dave Skett - My work is mainly abstract, using collage and e-collage to explore moods: light & dark; order & chaos; the familiar & the alien.

Open Studios Falkirk 2026 !! Coming soon. Art club is participating on Saturday 12th September 12noon till 5pm. Artists will be presenting themselves and their work so a chance to chat with them !! We are venue 8. Here’s a couple more member artists taking part.

Graham Young
I am a retired art tutor enjoying making work for me and anyone who likes it. My interests include painting, sculpture and murals from doors to swimming pools.

Soni Pius

I’m Soni Pius, an artist based in the Falkirk area, inspired by colour, nature, sunsets and flowers. I particularly love Impressionism and artists such as Monet and Van Gogh, and enjoy creating abstract pieces and landscapes. Rose Reverie is an acrylic painting inspired by the delicate beauty of roses, using soft pastel tones to create a sense of calm, warmth and dreaminess. I love allowing emotions to guide my creativity and seeing where the colours and shapes take me. 🎨🌸

Art Club is participating in Open Studios Falkirk!
September 2026. We are venue 8! and would love if you could give us a wee visit. However we are on one day only the 12th September. Larbert Cross Church Hall 12noon till 5pm. We have several artist members taking part and here is a couple of them with examples of their work


Fiona Greig
I like to work in different genres with a variety of mediums. I quite often experiment and mix inks, acrylics and oils together.

Irene Bradshaw
I am an artist specialising in figures and portraiture. I work in most mediums with colour, movement, and emotion.

Today we have Mary Tripney and Angelene Perry (Wee Perry Pictures)

Mary Tripney - I’m inspired by the Scottish landscape and the natural world, working mainly in acrylic and pastel. In addition I enjoy painting still life.

Angelene Perry - I'm mainly a botanical artist who looks for emotional expression in flowers. I work across a range of mediums including watercolour, acrylic, ink and pencil.
