Ludus Dance A children and young people’s dance charity Ludus Dance is a dance development charity, operating throughout Lancashire and beyond.

We are committed to providing an inclusive and friendly environment in which children and young people, whatever their ability or background, can engage with art through dance. We focus on providing children and young people with opportunities to participate in creative learning and nurturing talent by offering progression routes towards a career in the sector for keen and gifted individuals. By placing excellence at the heart of everything we do, we support and encourage a thriving dance ecology in the North of England.

Exciting news… our first intensive weekend for Light Up Lancaster is complete! 🙌🏼

Here at Ludus, we truly value everyone’s voice, and always aim to allow ideas room to breathe and develop - this intensive was no different. Working collaboratively with the young people in the room, over the course of the weekend, thoughts were flowing and slowly beginning to melt together into one fantastic dance piece! By choosing to follow more of a non-linear and collective approach, we believe that it removes the stereotypical hierarchical structure, and provides an environment in which everyone’s voices are weighted equally.

With our second intensive just around the corner (26th and 27th of October), we can’t wait to get back into the studio! Keep an eye out for this, and other exciting Light Up updates! 👀

Over the next six weeks, we will be working alongside young people from Lancaster, Morecambe and Wigan schools, to bring this piece to life! 🪩
