Our resident pumpkin, Trevor, can't wait to see you all next week for October Half Term

He may not look too happy about it but we can promise you he is.

He'll be our only spooky decor next week so if you're not a fan of ghosts and monsters The Brick Box is a safe haven.

We've two ticket options available:

Hour sessions are £5 per person (adults need a ticket too) per hour and include free tea, coffee and juice

or

All Day Building Passes are £12 and include 1 free adult plus a free BYO Minifigure as well as complimentary tea, coffee and juice. You can even bring a packed lunch and stay for the whole day. Come and go as you please.

We've had a fantastic term working with our home education families! They've all completed their final workshop- learning how to budget for home expenses over a month.

After each child receives their wage of pieces they need to ensure their bills and expenses are paid before adding what's left into their model to construct their house. We played our game over 12 months with some hidden surprises along the way to keep them on their toes.

We had a lot of fun, a lot of laughs and explored lots of different ideas for living all whilst learning and gaining key life skills for the real world.

Our next course begins on November 2nd! We'd love it to be full of little minds who can't wait to learn through play. If your children are home educated please share this post with your friends. We would love to get the word out about our regular courses. Thanks in advance.

We've had a busy week visiting some uniformed clubs in the local area.

We had a great creative session with Ackworth Brownies earlier in the week. We had a discussion about what buildings were required for a functioning town. Everyone was assigned a board and a building and they got to work creating.

At the end of the session we joined all the boards together to create a masterpiece town. Each of the girls went home with a Minifigure and hopefully some inspiration to crack open the LEGO box.

Working from home can have it's perks, you can wear whatever you like, sit wherever you like and listen to whatever music you like however when you have a husky that demands attention all the time it makes things interesting.

This is an example of "Dad you've been typing for ages it must be play time now"

Poor Loki hasn't quite grasped the concept that work needs to be done and his LEGO sorting skills are very poor so he can't even speed the job up. In fact he often has the opposite effect and slows everything down.

One day he might understand 🤣

Yeee Hawww! What a rootin' tooting' party! We almost went to infinity and beyond.

There was lots of building and lots of laughs as we got creative then just when we thought it couldn't get any better this cake appears and a spread of Party Rings and sandwiches. The perfect food to wrap up one of our awesome parties!

We covered some pretty advanced concepts in Monday’s Home Educators Workshop.

We explored our economy, where money comes from, the debt system, the free market and if that wasn’t enough the children traded their way from having just 10 LEGO pieces to becoming entrepreneur extraordinaires with amazing models.

They all did an amazing job not only grasping how our economy works but suggesting how to make it better. At this rate we’ll have to invite the current government over for one of our sessions. You never know they might learn something 😂

We love conducting science experiments during our Home Educators Workshops.

We took some inspiration from our birthday parties and turned it into a physics test. It’s amazing what you can do with some LEGO and a plank of wood.

We’ve explored many different aspects to create a perfect race car. We’ve analysed length, width, weight and aerodynamics.

We had plenty of fun along the way too! There’s still spaces available for our November/December course so sign up today and let your little ones learn through play.
