A painting as documentation of the unquenchable blaze brought about by unprecedented high temperatures in Edinburgh a couple of weeks ago. It’s a scary prospect for the future and you’re reminded of it every time you walk past Arthur’s Seat, seeing the scorched surface left behind on the hillside.

That’s a wrap! A Day In May closes this evening at Spirit Studios Suffolk.

Here is a group photo of us curators after completing the selection for the show. I am truly thankful to have been able to take part in the whole process, working alongside John, Laura and the team was a real joy.

This very special collaboration between John Martin Gallery and AUTO AMOR created a show where established artists and emerging artists came together on equal footing. Approximately 250 invited and open-submission artists took part in the show from 15 different countries. Auto Amor’s signature gesso boards provided the perfect canvas for all artworks to be judged by their own merit. I remember just how bowled over we all were by the quality of the submissions received and I reckon I speak for everyone who took part when I say that I think we all learned a lot from seeing each other’s work whether it’d be in person or documentation of the creative process online.

Sadly, I won’t be able to make it down to the new Auto Amor HQ next week, but I look forward to seeing everyone taking part in the festivities. Three of my paintings will be for sale and on exhibition at HQ for the next six months. Private view and celebrations are taking place on August 6th 5-9pm 🍺
