Our first Nova Project Promenade Feature: Sky Goodlad 💫

Sky has been nominated for The Nova Project for her work with the Youth Forum at Clued-Up Project, a youth-friendly substance use support service. The Youth Forum are a small group of passionate young people who run special projects which have been widely recognised.💚

The Youth Forum have presented their work at a conference in Lisbon and took part in a BBC documentary. Last year, Sky was invited to The King’s Summit to meet Idris Elba, Prime Minister Keir Starmer and His Majesty The King- where she had the best cup of tea of her life! ☕️

Clued-Up started as a safe place for Sky, where she was supported by people who’ve been through it themselves. Over time and with her friends Darcie and Amy, she started to get serious and wanted to make change which is how the Youth Forum started. 💪

This installation features 5 of the nominations from the Nova Project, of some of the phenomenal women, trans and non-binary people of Kirkcaldy 💪

For the next 5 weeks every Friday, we'll be posting their stories and photographs (taken by the wonderful Cate Gillon) to highlight their brilliant work in Kirkcaldy 💚

Quines Community Company are taking over the Olympia Arcade for their first ever original production - inspired by the women, trans and non-binary people of Kirkcaldy.

The show runs until Saturday, and we are currently SOLD OUT 🎟️

We had the BEST time on Saturday at Picnic on the Prom! 🌳

Amidst the ever changing weather the event was full of laughter, joy and the stories of the women, trans and non-binary people of Kirkcaldy 💫

A massive thanks to the Duchess for providing the food for the event, our musicians Truetones & Pink Foot and our commissioned artists; Robyn Smith, Ellen Renton and Sara Cullen for their brilliant work 💜

We were also supported by a number of brilliant local businesses with materials on the day - thank you to you all! 💚

Picnic on the Prom is tomorrow! The event is now sold out and we can't wait to see you there 💜

Ticket holders have received a pre-event email with everything you need to know, but please remember to dress for the weather and bring a blanket or something to sit on! Your picnic is being provided by the Duchess, and will be available to collect at Volunteers Green until 1:30pm 🧺

For this event, we've commissioned three artists to respond to the Nova Project nominations - celebrating the women, trans and non-binary people of Kirkcaldy 🎭

Writer Sara Cullen will perform a piece inspired by Alice Watson, Poet Ellen Renton will capture the running themes of many of the nominations and musician Robyn Smith is inspired by Sister Carmichael ✍️

We'll also have live music, drag performance, arts & crafts and a chance to make your own Nova Project nominations!

It's going to be a brilliant day ✨
