All hand cut and painted. A cute practical gift.

These turned out quite nice. 🙂
I like the punchy colours, contrasting black silhouette and the gold.
A few final touches, 1 more firing and these will be ready. Usually I like the slightly wobbly melted sides but I’ve cold worked these to straighten them up a bit. I’ve added a bit more glass for a bit of texture and now… we wait 🕰️

Popped these in the Kiln tonight.

They have gold powder in between the layers of clear and amber.. My little dog might be shimmering gold in the light now too 😬wrong place at the wrong time 🐾

Another order getting packaged up. 📦 🙂

Just thought I’d let you see the scale of these two side by side. A few people who have bought the Little Glass Greenhouse have asked me if they are the same size.
As you can see, The Bookworm is a little bit bigger. 📚
They go nicely as a set & I’ve got another idea that I’m dying to find the time to try out! 🕰️

Fun fact today. Where did the traditional Wedding Anniversary gifts come from? 🤓

It was the merchants and shopkeepers of the Victorian era who saw an opportunity and jumped on it. They expanded on the silver and golden anniversaries by beginning to propose specific items as designated anniversary gifts for specific years. Among the first, they conjured up was paper as the gift for the first anniversary.

The traditional gift for the 3rd Wedding Anniversary is….. Glass!! 🙂
