From the moment you turn up! Judged. The time you arrive. Judged. What you are wearing. Judged. How you've prepared you face & hair. Judged (Yes guys too). The first thing you say. Judged. Have you learnt your lines. Judged. Do you make excuses. Judged. All these things happen before you've even got to the part, you went there to do - Act. Your audition starts from the first moments contact whether it's on the phone or in person. Casting directors, directors and producers are hiring more than just your talent. The are hiring you, a team player, hard worker, friendly, punctual person.

Alexandra Sifferlin, Time Magazine, Discussing research at Dartmouth College and New York University "Our Brains immediately judge people". We are making judgments before we even realise it. It's not a case of a director or casting being "judgemental", said in a way that is to criticise them for judging you. It's human instinct to judge. So be prepared for it, understand it, and realise you have the POWER in your PREPARATION.
