After a few rather shaky weeks at Fairview Studio due to the passing of Keith Herd and my own health issues it's been wonderful to plunge back into the fray by mastering three brand new albums by Bill Nelson. They are the first part of his 'Guitars of Tomorrow' project and are called....Volume One-'Magical Thinking', Volume Two-'The Art Of Light' & Volume Three- 'Elsewhere'. All three amazing guitar instrumental albums featuring some of (in my humble opinion) Bill's finest composition and production work....not to mention the guitars obviously! Keep an eye on Bill's website at Dreamsville for release details. Following swiftly on this week is the return of Mostly Autumn to continue work on a new album after a few weeks gigging in the UK, Germany & Spain. Spent a few very civilised hours at the studio today with Bill Nelson and Jon Wallinger previewing tracks from the first three album releases fom Bill's 'Guitars of Tomorrow' forthcoming series. Truly stunning material with wonderful production techniques, Bill just keeps on getting better and better at what he does best! Those of you who are particularly into Bill's instrumental music will definitely love these. Keep an eye on his website https://www.billnelson.com/ for further details and release updates. Forgot to take pictures as usual but then Bill is very camera-shy. Jon Wallinger is the erstwhile Mayor of Dreamsville, Bill's internet residence and he doubles as personal body guard and press agent. 😄😄😄

Many thanks to Deborah Hall, the Hull Live site and the Hull Daily Mail for the splendid tribute to Keith Herd, founder and owner of Fairview Recording Studio who sadly passed away recently. We shall be doing our own exploration of Keith's life and work and outlining some hitherto unreported details quite shortly. Watch this space. In the meantime why not watch this for a few moments as Keith opens up during the final interview with John Spence. Enjoy!

It is with great sadness that I announce the passing of Keith Herd, founder, owner and the brains and hard work behing Fairview Recording Studio and Fairview Music. Keith had been unwell for a few weeks and was being looked after at home by his daughters Jackie and Lisa. His widow Vicky is being supported by them now. I will write a more detailed assessment of Keith's life and achievements in due course but in the meantime those of you who crossed paths with Keith (and there were a great many) should feel free to relate your own memories on this page. I understand there will not be a funeral but I will post anything that the family feel needs to be made public in due course. RIP Keith, I learnt so much from you and will never forget you.
