I’ve been a little quiet on here lately — not because nothing’s happening, but because I tend to be a bit of a perfectionist and posting doesn’t always come easily to me. 🫣 That said, it is part of the business. 😅

Behind the scenes though, the parties have been amazing, with so much great feedback that I barely have to advertise Umbrella Parties — word of mouth really does travel faster than anything else. 🥰✅

🎨✨ Why Professional Face Painters Don’t Paint Under 3s …. the Real Allergy Risk You Might Not Know About ✨🎨

When a professional face painter says they don’t paint children under three, it’s not being awkward. It’s about protecting your child’s skin and future health.

One of the biggest (and least understood) reasons is allergy build-up. Here’s how it works 👇

💧 Allergic reactions don’t always happen the first time. You might think, “They’ve had face paint on before and were fine!”, but that’s exactly how allergies can begin.

🎨The first few exposures to face paints might cause no visible reaction at all. But underneath, the immune system can start to become sensitised, quietly learning to recognise certain ingredients.

😖Later on, after repeated use, it suddenly decides those ingredients are “bad” and reacts with redness, itching, rashes or even swelling.

🌟Professional face paints are the safest cosmetic-grade products available, but even they aren’t made for under-3 skin. That’s because toddlers’ skin is thinner, more absorbent, and still developing its natural barrier, which increases the risk of sensitisation.

In short:

🚫 Painting under-3s doesn’t just risk an immediate reaction. It can increase their chances of developing allergies to cosmetics later in life.

🌈 Waiting until they’re old enough (over age 3) keeps their skin safe and their future face painting experiences safer, fun and worry-free.
