Sedgeford Village Hall - a perfect place for activities and events
One of west Norfolk’s most up to date and well-equipped leisure amenities,
Sedgeford Village Hall, is available for hire and offers an ideal venue for many types
of indoor and outdoor events. Built in 2000 and situated on the playing field in Jarvie Close, Sedgeford, the
building comprises a main hall, which offers seating for up t

o 150 in rows and 110
seated at tables and a smaller meeting room which can accommodate up to 20
people seated. The Village Hall is
maintained to a very high standard and cleaned after every event. It is centrally
heated and modern toilets include a baby changing facility. A small but well equipped kitchen, which includes an oven, two gas rings, fridge,
crockery, glasses and cutlery, can be used for heating and preparing simple food. A
serving hatch into the main hall makes it ideal as a bar area and for providing
refreshments throughout events. The carpeted and curtained stage provides a professional platform for live
performances such as drama, music, talks and cinema and an electric piano is
available for use by hirers. Acoustic ceiling dampers ensure a good all round sound
quality and a loop hearing system is available. On the West side of the hall, double doors give way to a large patio area adjacent to
the sports field…perfect for Summer events and enjoying spectacular sunsets. Close by is a secure children’s play area. A spacious car park, which can be
extended to accommodate up to 50 cars, includes two disabled parking bays close
to the main entrance. With Sedgeford’s King William pub, just a 500 metre walk away, the Village Hall is
well positioned for after dinner receptions for private parties, or for companies and
organisations wishing to hold day courses and staff training without the bother of
catering. The high quality facilities, pleasant interior and realistic hire charges make
Sedgeford Village Hall a convivial and cost effective venue for:
• wedding receptions and parties
• drama, music and dancing
• yoga, keep-fit, carpet bowls and table tennis
• talks and training courses
• caravan and motorhome rallies

An Evening with Bowjangles - Classically Untamed

Bowjangles has been performing together across the globe for many years, at arts festivals and events in Scandinavia, Spain,Portugal, Australia and the Caribbean, in concert halls across China, Off Broadway in NewYork, and of course all over the UK, most notably at Glastonbury, the Edinburgh Fringe and at the London Southbank Centre. The group has also been featured on BBC, CBeebies, Sky and ITV with their theatre shows 'Excalibow' and 'Draculain Space'.This year Bowjangles celebrate 17 years of performing together and bring you all their very best bits from that time.

Request to all TESCO shoppers...

The village hall children’s play area has been chosen as a project that Tesco’s will support with a grant using the blue token scheme. You receive the tokens when you shop and then place them in the charity receptacle of your choice. Starting from the first week of July, the Sedgeford Children’s Playground Refurbishment Project will be one of the options. It would be great to have your support and encourage friends and neighbours to place their tokens in our receptacle. All projects will get funding but the more we get the better chance we have of getting the largest grant. The project will be running in the both the Hunstanton and Heacham stores.

Following last year’s first outdoor performance of 'The Importance of Being Earnest’, on Saturday 19th July we’ll be staging 'The Rivals’, a comedy by Richard Sheridan.
The play is set in the elegant city of Bath and was first performed in 1775; it is though, still as relevant today, giving us a close-up of the in-crowd that formed the backbone of London’s smart society in the 18th century.
A tale of dark deeds and duels, romantic entanglements and comedy from start to finish.
Gloucester-based Rain or Shine Theatre Company will be back again after the success of last year’s performance, which broke all previous attendance records with an audience of 180 who enjoyed picnics and wine under a fabulous west Norfolk sunset.
So, why not pack your festival trolley and come along to meet Mrs Malaprop, yes, she of the mangled and inappropriate words.
A great way to spend a mid-Summer's evening under the stars on Sedgeford’s playing field. Parking is FREE and plentiful. Be sure to bring your outdoor chairs and a picnic (optional).
Alternatively, Bordoli Pizzas will be on site and serving from 6.00pm when the gates open.
Please book online: £16.00 adult, £8.00 children; by using the dedicated Barclays account below. Please add a reference to your online payment of: The Rivals followed by your name.
Barclays account name, (Sedgeford Village) Acc. no: 40519138 - Sort code: 20/46/65
