15 years and a whole lot of memories! 🎨

From a simple idea at Auchinstarry Marina to the gallery we know and love today, here’s the story of how The Port Gallery began. We’re incredibly grateful to every artist, customer and friend who has supported our family run business along the way.

Please join us on the 26th of September for a day of celebration! Including new items, sale items and a raffle with many prizes t oraise money for The Beatson.

So… what actually goes on behind the scenes at The Port Gallery?

Amy’s back with another wee video, this time giving you a bit of an insight into what goes into running the gallery day to day — and as you can probably imagine, it’s definitely not just standing around looking at lovely artwork! 😂

From helping customers and working on new ideas, to all the boring computer stuff that nobody sees, there’s always something going on behind the scenes.

We’re a small, family-run business, so we all muck in and do a bit of everything — some jobs are definitely more exciting than others! 😂

A hidden family memory brought back to life.

This beautiful old photograph was discovered tucked behind another picture and was in need of a little care. After being professionally restored, the faces and details can be enjoyed once again.

A wee chat about Sam Skelton 🎨

Amy chats about Sam Skelton, why she loves his work and just how different his paintings can be.

That’s probably one of our favourite things about Sam — you never quite know what you’re going to get! From his darker industrial scenes and familiar Scottish settings to his figurative work and some of his more unusual pieces, he definitely wasn’t an artist you could put into one box.

Amy knew Sam personally, so she also shares a little bit about the man behind the paintings, where some of his ideas came from and what makes his work so special to us here at The Port Gallery.

Even after spending years around Sam’s paintings, there are still pieces that surprise us — and that’s part of the reason we love his work so much.
