There’s something incredibly special about wandering through the gardens and seeing just how much nature gives back.

Right now, the garden is bursting with grapes, peaches, plums, figs, raspberries, blackberries, tomatoes, beetroot, rosehips and even tiny cucamelons hiding amongst the vines. 🌿

Every season brings something new to discover. Some things are ready to pick, others are quietly ripening in the sunshine, but all of it is part of what makes staying here so magical.

Slow mornings with a coffee, an afternoon stroll through the gardens, and the simple joy of spotting what’s growing next… it’s all part of life at The Little Retreat.

Tucked in our wood shed you’ll find a proper Jaques of London croquet set — the same family firm that’s been making them since 1795. Set up the hoops on the lawn, pour something cold, and settle in for a slow afternoon of friendly (or fiercely competitive… we don’t judge) croquet inside our 1762 walled garden.

Sleep in a dome inside the old walled garden of Lawrenny Castle.

Stone walls from 1762 around you, and Garron Pill just a short walk away.

Check the tides and safety first, then head down for a BBQ by the water, a wild swim or a paddleboard.

When you’re done, walk back up through the woods to your dome. Light the wood fired hot tub or slip into the outdoor bathtub. Estuary day. Cosy night.
