Keynsham – Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.
On Sunday 5th July, many of you told us it was the best Keynsham Music Festival you had ever been to. We have heard that more times in the past week than in the previous 28 years put together. And honestly? We think you might be right.
20,000 of you came through those gates across the Big Weekend. You watched circus performers defy gravity in the Circus Arena. You danced to Ragged Union - yes, some of you actually line-danced! You listened to opera under canvas on a warm July evening. You watched six remarkable young women walk through the park with puppets they built with their own hands. Wherever you looked, kids were having the best time. You sang, you celebrated, you donated, and you reminded us, as if we needed reminding, exactly why we do this.
But we also want to be straight with you.
Earlier this year, we were not certain this festival would happen at all. The financial position was serious. The conversations were difficult. And then, because this is Keynsham and this is what this community does, you came through. You gave to our Crowdfunder. You came to our fundraising events. You donated at the gates. You turned up.
Because of you, we have not only delivered our best festival yet, but we have also recovered our deficit and will be making a surplus to take us forward for the first time since before Covid.
And that means we are absolutely buzzing to announce…
Keynsham Music Festival will be back in 2027 - for our 30th anniversary!
Thirty years. We can barely believe it ourselves.
Thank you to every single person who donated, volunteered, performed, ran a stall, sponsored, attended or simply believed in us when things were uncertain. You are the reason this festival exists. You are the reason we hope it will exist for another thirty years.
So.. with that in mind, what would you like to see for the 30th anniversary?
