English Choral Festival

We are very excited to announce that Saturday 16th May 2026 will see us travel to Kettering, Northamptonshire to host The English Choral Festival at the ancient church of St Peter & St Paul Parish Church, Kettering.

We have amalgamated with The North Northamptonshire Music Festival who have hosted their Music Festival Competitions for the past 4 years in North Northamptonshire.

Whilst this has been successful the time has come for it to focus solely on the choral traditions and world thus the creation of The English Choral Festival which we hope will travel around to the surrounding counties each year with 2027 already ear marked to travel to Nottingham and 2028 in Cambridge.

With this in mind we had a hugely successful year with the Barbershop Day and we are confident that we will be able to recreate this again in the future, but for now we will be focusing solely on Choral.

We look forward to taking you all on this journey with us and we thank you for your continued support. Please keep an eye out for some very exciting news regarding our adjudicator for 2026.

The Festival needs your help.

Would you like to become a 2025 Patron of the Festival for just £20?

As you will no doubt be aware that the cost of living crisis has meant that everything has increased in price and sadly no business, charity or organization can escape this and so with the help and support of generous patrons such as yourself you are ensuring that we can continue to give future generations a platform to perform on and compete on.

As patron you will be entitled to Free Entry to Competition Festival's. You will also get a free program and be entitled to free Tea & Coffee from the refreshments.

At a time when everybody is feeling the pinch we appreciate that being asked to part with your hard earned money is something which not everybody can do, but if you can then the festival and the future generations of performers will be eternally grateful.

A message from Joshua Daniel - President & Founder of North Northamptonshire Music Festival

"What a day we had on Saturday 12th April, kicking off what I feel will fastly become an annual date for the diaries In the Barbershop world. To see so many Barbershop Quartets and Choruses all under one roof was an absolute joy to witness. The camaraderie, friendships, support and joyful laughter rang out from the first class at 11am and continued throughout the day.

Thank you to The Exhausted Parrot for providing refreshments throughout the day.

A huge thank you to the volunteers who were on hand to help throughout the day, without you it would be near impossible for the day to exist, so thank you.

A special mention to our judges Alan Hughes, Barry Clinton & Jill Foskett who each bought their unique experiences, advice and invaluable feedback at what must have been a very hard competition to adjudicate. Thank you so much.

I hope you all enjoyed the first Barbershop Festival, and hopefully with all of your continued support this Barbershop Day will continue to grow and next will be even bigger and even better than this year.
