🌳 Tree climbing sessions take place throughout the festival weekend. It's a wonderfully wild experience for children aged 6+ (and there's no upper age limit!)

Head up into the trees and see things from a different angle - out across the leaves and branches where birds, insects and squirrels go about their day.

With just eight places available per climb, these sessions tend to fill quickly, so we’d recommend securing your spot in advance if you’d like to take part!

We spoke to Monica about her pioneering work ahead of her appearance at Wealden Festival. She tells us about the case that changed how she thinks about environmental justice, and reflects on how attitudes across the globe are beginning to shift when it comes to the rights of the natural world.

This Sunday 31 May, the gardens at Boldshaves are open from 2 - 6pm, offering a quiet stretch of time to wander and settle into the landscape.

Bring a book and find a peaceful corner, or stop by the Tea House for a slice of cake.

The garden is set within ancient woodland, and it feels especially lush at this time of year, with fresh green growth all around.

⛺️ Make a weekend of Wealden and settle into our camping area at Boldshaves, set among gardens and woodland for a night under the stars with family and friends.

For returning campers: by popular request, you’ll be back in the main field in front of the house this year, with plenty of open space to spread out.

Camping is open from 6pm on Friday, with check-out by 7pm on Sunday. Toilets and showers are available on site.

Pitches and bell tents are limited and booking is filling up, so early booking is recommended.

Back in 2021, Hannah Gold arrived at Wealden Festival for one of her very first author events, less than six months after publishing ‘The Last Bear’. Fast forward five years and she’s now an award-winning bestselling author returning to Boldshaves for a very special full-circle moment.

Ahead of this year’s festival, we caught up with Hannah to talk about the wild places and unforgettable animals that inspire her eco-adventure stories, and why helping children fall in love with nature is at the heart of everything she writes.

Read the full interview and join us in June to hear Hannah alongside a host of bestselling authors, emerging voices and festival favourites. You never know which future bestseller you’ll stumble across!
