Warwickshire Singers on tour! After the success of our recent spring concert, some of our singers were keen to sing Brahms Requiem again, so were excited to attend a “singalong” of the requiem at Symphony Hall, Birmingham. The two-hands one-piano of our own concert was replaced by full orchestra under the expert baton of Simon Halsey, with soloists Hilary Cronin and Jure Počkaj. An afternoon of rehearsals culminated in an evening concert. We’ve no doubt that the singers who took part will still be on a high at this evening’s rehearsal!

Warwickshire Singers are delighted to be teaming up with Singing for Pleasure’s Ula Weber to host a Come and Sing day at Kenilworth Methodist Church, Priory Road, Kenilworth on Saturday 12th September 2026. The day is open to all singers and will be an opportunity to sing a wide range of music (including folk, jazz, gospel and sacred), to meet other singers and experience the joy of singing together.

Ula is a choral conductor, teacher trainer, vocal strategy consultant and international workshop leader, renowned for drawing the highest standards of performance from choirs of all types and abilities. With a background in teaching, she is a Principal Vocal Tutor for Ex Cathedra and Project Leader for its award-winning Singing Playgrounds programme, Head of Events for national choral organisation Sing for Pleasure, and has been conductor of CBSO SO Vocal, CBSO Children's Chorus, Birmingham City Council Choir (featured in the BBC2 programme ‘The Choir’, with Gareth Malone) and the National Polish Folk Choir. She was nominated for the Royal Philharmonic Society's Inspiration Award 2023.

It is preferable if you can read or follow written music, but much of the singing will be learnt in the moment.

Meet our brilliant basses. The foundation of our choir, they provide the essential depth and power. Indeed, they never fail to pull it out of the bag on concert night. Our basses may be few in number, but the sound they produce is mighty!

Our little choir. What a concert! Four hands, one piano with pianists extraordinaire, David and Adrian. Our remarkable soloists, Beth and Freddie - so young, but with such vocal maturity. Jim, our wonderful MD - he put his heart and soul into this project and his passion for Brahms’ German Requiem was contagious. We gave it our all and sang to the rafters and beyond to a full house. Such a beautiful venue too with a glorious acoustic. Our hearts are full, our voices tired, but we’d do it all over again in a heartbeat

Another Monday night power cut smack bang in the middle of the really tricky bit in movement 2. Brahms was having none of it, so we ploughed on regardless. We are nothing if not dedicated!
