Priory Theatre The little theatre with a big reputation, staging our own shows and available to hire as a venue.

We're a community-run theatre that has been producing a range of shows since 1932 offering anyone with an interest in theatre the opportunity to get involved. Typically producing around 9 productions a year, there is a broad mix of entertainment - comedy, drama and pantomime - that provides something for everyone whether you want to watch our shows, or get involved on- or off-stage. outh Theatre offers younger members of the community a chance to develop their acting skills building confidence and we're pleased that a number of them have stayed with us over the years. We are a member of the Little Theatre Guild and are very proud of our standard of productions and our friendly atmosphere. We work closely with many charitable organisations in the area that regularly book performances at special rates to raise funds for their organisation

Goodnight Mister Tom opens at The Priory Theatre on 2nd September! ❤️

Goodnight Mister Tom is a tale of two broken souls at very different ends of the age scale that celebrates the value of love and proves that friendship knows no barriers. Set during the dark and dangerous build-up to the Second World War, Goodnight Mister Tom follows young William Beech, who is evacuated to the idyllic English countryside and builds a remarkable and moving friendship with the elderly recluse Tom Oakley. All seems perfect until William is devastatingly summoned by his mother back to London.

What an incredible run of Stepping Out it's been!

A huge well done to the amazing cast, production team and everyone behind the scenes who worked so hard to bring this show to life. Performing in the scorching heat while tap dancing certainly hasn't been easy for the cast, but every moment has been worth it!

Thank you to our wonderful audiences. Your laughter, applause, and support have made every performance so special.

We've thoroughly enjoyed bringing this fun, feel-good show to the Priory stage again after 33 years, it's been a joy to relive some great memories, whilst making many more on this production. ❤️👞✨

We are thrilled to announce upcoming auditions for Ira Levin's thrilling and suspenseful classic, Deathtrap, directed by Mark Jefferies.

This gripping thriller features a small cast of five fascinating characters and offers a fantastic challenge for performers looking to be part of a fast-paced, tension-filled production.

Then & Now... 33 years apart!
As we continue our run of Stepping Out at the Priory Theatre, we couldn't resist recreating a little bit of history.
The last time Stepping Out was performed on our stage was back in 1993!
Some of the cast from that original production are still members of our theatre today, and they recently met up with the talented actors playing the very same roles in our current production, with both Anita and Sue performing in both productions!
These photos capture the past and present side by side – a wonderful reminder of the friendships and memories that make theatre so special.
It is also great to know that many of the original production team are still involved with the Priory today.
Here's to everyone who has brought Stepping Out to life over the years.

Thank you so much to everyone for the wonderful feedback we have recieved over the last week from people after seeing Stepping Out. Comments like these mean the world to our cast, crew and everyone who has worked so hard to bring this production to the stage.
