Friday 28th - 30th November.  The Malt Room - The Brewery Arts Centre.

We have  another talented exhibitor to year's Craft Market Kendal line up. This time its jeweller Jackie Selcraig

Here's a bit more about her wonderful work .....

Jackie Selcraig is a self-taught jewellery designer based in the Scottish Borders. She’s been designing and creating since 2006. Her brand, Gracie J, consists of an eclectic collection of unusual jewellery using mostly matte-finished sterling silver combined with texture, oxidisation and, occasionally, gold detail.

Design for her is very fluid and unstructured. Less has always been more and this is reflected in all her work. She enjoys experimenting with different materials, textures and finishes and the aim is always to create something unique and out of the ordinary. She draws inspiration from her rural surroundings and the natural world, Gracie J pieces do more than adorn, they connect. Whether it’s a statement ring that sparks conversation or a subtle pendant that might be worn every day, each design is made with intention. The result is a quietly distinctive aesthetic which is both minimal yet expressive.

Jackie has exhibited widely across Scotland and the north of England at various design-led events. She also sells her jewellery online to customers both in the UK and abroad, such is its appeal.

Friday 28th - 30th November.  The Malt Room - The Brewery Arts Centre.

We've just added another talented exhibitor to this year's Craft Market Kendal roster! This time its basket maker and painter Sara Abbot of Sara will be joining for one day only on Sunday 30th and will have her display in the foyer area just outside the Malt Room.

Here's a bit more about her amazing work in her own words .....

We are all vessels, a holding of memories made from days and time. And we all should have a basket. They are needed to carry what we love and what from our past is important for the future. These works are made from and with the landscapes: heather from the Calder Valley, rose hips from the Sussex Downs, festooned with ‘wombled’ treasure from the beach and woodland floor. Making use of leftover stuff, resulting in unique, statement pieces for everyday use, storage or pure decoration.

Abbott has a studio in the Calder Valley but lives in LBV, her little black van. A home on wheels equally fashioned from items left over by others, resulting in a simple existence that eases her environmental consciousness and facilitates

Friday 28th - 30th November. The Malt Room - The Brewery Arts Centre.

This time next week Craft Market Kendal will be open! This year we are going to open earlier on Friday 28th opening from 2 pm - 8 pm.

We still have some amazing exhibitors to introduce to this year's show so lets welcome back potter James Hake of

Here's a bit more about his beautiful work...

James makes a range of ceramic stoneware, thrown at the potter’s wheel. He also produces slab rolled work including wall hangings and square dishes.

“Taking inspiration from Oriental ceramics, I have developed a palette of my own glazes. These range from subtle Shinos, to rich, dark Tenmokus and Copper Reds. Glazes are applied quickly by dipping and pouring in different combinations, which fuse together in the heat of the kiln. I am always adapting and experimenting with glaze, searching for different colours and textures to complement ceramic form. Currently I am investigating using local materials from quarries, clay seams and wood ashes in my glazes.”
