One of my new years resolutions, I should probably point out at this point I make new years resolutions in September - apparently September resolutions are more likely to succeed as your resolve hasn't been ground down by winter yet. Also it's universally a time of new beginnings so your brain is hardwired to take to new routines better.

I digress, my resolution is to get more savvy with technology again! Queue the dodgy reels and figuring out how to use my camera, learning all about software that's now around and how to use it, I'll get there!

So tonight I ticked something off my bucket list that I've wanted to do for ages, I took my first ever photo of the northern lights aka the Aurora Borealis! All thanks to the fabulous instruction and patience from Jonny Gios Photography. I had previously thought doing this would involve booking a fancy trip to Iceland however living in the Lakes there's plenty of dark skies to utilise so I'm going to do use that!

I know I have a million things to learn about taking a better photo but standing in the cold staring into space with the rain blowing a hooly is good for the soul and I have a pleased, I did something I wanted to do, empowerment glow about my person now.

So here's to achievable goals and taking baby steps to where we want to be.

Go get those achievable goals!

My mum is organising things in storage, and she just dropped off these two very old canvases I painted... She said my love of colours has always been there.

I think the one with the faces on I must of been around 10yrs old and the other one I remember sitting painting together with a friend when I was about 18 maybe?

Do you remember painting this ? 🤣

Had a lovely day tidying in my studio this week.

I've been going over summer holidays with my two children so it was a complete tip. Half finished finger paintings and clay creations all over the place.

Now it's s***k and span ready for action. Rydal caves will soon be finished! 🤞🤣

Casually taking one of my prints for a walk this morning. It's been absolutely scorching here in the lake district today, so do excuse my very hot, sweaty, frizzy appearance.

I've had a lovely day with one of my oldest friends and her husband. I haven't seen them in about a year, and they also happen to love Castlerigg Stone Circle, so they now have their very own print to take home with them.

It'd be rude not to take a picture on location, so here is my sweaty mugshot for you viewing pleasure.

It's been another busy week of summer school at Ragtag this week, one more day to go then I'm off for 2 whole weeks! 🥰

One of the students needed a wee break from the busy hive of activity in the class room today. So we sat and played with the button tin for half an hour and made a rainbow (obviously). 🌈

I forgot how satisfying rustling through a button tin is 😌 and nice to have little snippets of 1-1 with really lovely creative little people. Think that's my favourite bit about work. 🥰
