It is with great sadness to report that Liz Hird of Kelso Pottery, died peacefully, in The Margaret Kerr Unit, on 22nd August 2026, aged 82 years.

Much-loved wife of Ian and wonderful mum to Diane and Gil. Proud grandma to her grandchildren. Service to be held at Borders Crematorium, Melrose, on Thursday 3rd September 2026 at 2:30pm, to which all are very welcome. Family flowers only. Donations, if desired, to The Margaret Kerr Unit.

With Ian, Liz was a great supporter and integral part of the Kelso Music Society over many decades and will now be missed at our concerts. We send our best wishes to Ian and the family

Notice of AGM

Dear Friends and Supporters,
This is to alert everyone to the Kelso Music Society AGM, which will take place on -

Friday 24th April, at 2.00pm
at the Abbey Row Centre
Kelso, TD5 7BJ

We would really appreciate a good turn out - so please consider coming along. Times are challenging and the more support we have the better.

Plans for the future include more work with local schools - the photo shows Tria Archai holding a workshop with the rural schools of Ednam, Morebattle, Yetholm, and Sprouston, plus the two town schools of Broomlands & Edenside (October 2025).

Our next concert season is also finalised:

4th October 2026: The Bubblyjock Collective (sporano, accordion & piano)
23rd October 2026: op.13 (string quartet)
8th November 2026: Khrystyna Mychailichenko (piano)
22nd November 2026: Su-a Lee & Hamish Napier (classical & folk mix)
24th January 2027: Adam Johnson (piano)
7th February 2027: Roderick Williams (baritone) & the Carducci Quartet
19th March 2027: Catil Wind Quintet

More details will be posted on the website in due course. We are already thinking of the subsequent season - so please come along to the AGM and make your voice heard.
