Woodfest

Woodfest Woodfest has now ended having raised over £34,000 for Sue Ryder Manorlands Hospice.

Our page now serves to promote other fundraising music events such as Proms at the Castle, Music for Manorlands, Groovey Happenings and the New Variety Club night. Thanks to the Woodfest Committee, especially farmer Wood and Mrs Wood who have raised a fantastic amount for Sue Ryder Manorlands Hospice over the 7 years of Woodfest. The committee are now working on some other exciting music projects

and are using this page to promote them and other music projects supporting Manorlands including Moorfest, Music Helps Manorlands, Proms on the Farm and the Bolton Abbey event in September.

The team at the New Variety Club Keighley are fundraising for Sue Ryder Manorlands again this Friday at their Russel St. premises in Keighley. Following 6 previous nights of entertainment this year which have benefited local palliative care to the tune of over £2000, this Friday sees a Northern Soul night with Frankie Heart performing. As always the more people who attend the more is made for the hospice so we're encouraging all Manorlands supporters who like a bit of Northern Soul to attend if they can. There is also a Soul night benefiting our care on 26 October. Thanks to the team at the New Variety Club for their continued support.

Unfortunately we've had to make the difficult decision to postpone both Rock the Castle and Proms at the Castle tomorrow due to concerns about health and safety in the predicted weather. We can only apologise to all the people who were looking forward to attending and performing and to volunteers David Fox, Hilary Keene and everyone else who had worked so hard on it. It is not an easy decision to take especially as it will effect the hospice financially but safety has to come first and we're sure that you will understand. It is our intention to reschedule both on the same date in due course and tickets will be valid for the new date. Anyone who has purchased tickets and can not make the rescheduled date will be refunded.

Here is Floss dressed appropriately for this weekend at the site this morning as we put the second stage in place. Unfortunately there is no music for her tomorrow but she'll be back for the rearranged date and we hope you will be too!

Rock the Castle and Proms at the Castle are working with the Plastic Free Communities in Keighley to help reduce the impact single use plastic has on our environment. We would encourage all participants to bring your own reusable cups, plates and crockery for use at the bars and food stalls. We are seeking a provider of water coolers to help with water points for you to refill your water bottles throughout the events so if you know someone who can help please let us know. We probably won't get to being plastic free over the weekend but with our guests help we can certainly get close. Purchase your Proms at the Castle tickets at sueryder.org/promsatthecastle and order your free Rock the Castle tickets at sueryder.org/rockthecastle .
