ArtAffect - transpositions We organise talks workshops and art residencies.

ArtAffect is based in the Scottish Borders and is a multi arts studio open to artists and creatives and anyone interested in discovering new things related to art and environment.

We were delighted to be invited to a Rotary Club of Jedburgh meeting yesterday where we were warmly welcomed by members and shared a lovely meal. We gave an overview of ArtAffect, both at present in the Port House and future in the Old Bakery. Our main message is that we want to promote and encourage the development of arts and culture in Jedburgh because we passionately believe that art and creativity changes lives! Thank you to Roger, the Chair and all.

Explore the Gledhill Arts Library with creative therapist Vicky Inam in a warm, welcoming and completely beginner-friendly session designed to get you making art without overthinking it.
This is a follow-up to Vicky’s popular previous course, but available to past participants and new!
Vicky will guide the group through a series of playful activities to kickstart your creativity, using the library’s almost 2,000 books on art and culture as prompts, ideas and inspiration. We’ll be raiding the shelves and seeing where they take us, experimenting with mark-making, free drawing and other intuitive ways of making. Whether you’re a seasoned artist or entirely convinced you don’t have a creative bone in your body, there’s no right or wrong way to do this - the point is to get out of your own way and see what happens.
As part of the session, you’ll get an introduction to the library and time to browse the collection yourself. Participants receive a library card and 6 months free subscription! See less

Two different but equally exciting events coming up in ArtAffect. On September 3rd, we have the first of a series of drawing and painting meetings organised by one of our resident artists, Rikki Niehaus. See you at the Copy Cat Club!! 😻🎨
The second is a follow up course with Vicky Inam Creative Wellbeing, where Vicky guides us through journeys of creativity, intuition and wellbeing inspired by life and the art books in the Gledhill Arts Library, 19th September.

We've added an Artist Index to our website (link in comments). It's a work in progress but it will list our members who are also creatives. There are all sorts of people making things in and around Jedburgh. Some for fun, some as professionals!
