Buxton Festival Fringe And More category offers insights into wellbeing and how the mind works, as well as a taste of cabaret and fun for all the family!

Those interested in the power of the mind should head to Mason King: The Mind Spy, a theatrical mentalism show recreating experiments inspired by Cold War psychic research. Using audience participation, suggestion and psychological techniques, the performance examines thought transmission, coincidence and intuition. This award-winning show offers an immersive exploration of perception, belief and the subtle ways information can be influenced and interpreted.

Meanwhile audiences wishing to transform their lives won't want to miss Art for Health and Wellbeing. Local artist and art psychotherapist Claire Parker reveals powerful research, moving stories, and real case studies showing how creativity and engagement in art boosts health and wellbeing. Be inspired, gain practical tools for change, and witness the impact of art on individuals, families, and communities.

Free family fun can be found at the Ugly Bug Ball as the Buxton International Festival Serpentine Community Garden celebrates its new pollinator bed with a lively day including music, refreshments and plenty of activities for all ages plus a chance to look around the garden.

The family-friendly High Peak Pride Pride Picnic offers an afternoon of fun, glamour and fabulous hats plus cake of course opened at 130pm by buxton own drag superstar Kate Butch There will be garden games, frivolities and of course Buxton's Big Gay Bake Off! Bring a picnic and meet on the lawns to relax, laugh and celebrate life!

More adult entertainment is on offer at the Pump Room Cabaret. A staple at the Edinburgh Fringe for over a decade, this riotous cabaret debuts in Buxton with its usual mix of burlesque, magic, music and comedy. With some of the finest performers from across the UK, this show brings doses of charm, titillation and an air of ‘anything can happen’.
