Each session 10am - 2pm

Taught by Lucy Rodgers , this exciting short course is a fantastic way to start and develop your skills in making imaginative, colourful linocut prints. Suitable for anyone who has a little printing experience that wants to give this process a try.

Reduction linocut is the art of cutting a multi-layered print from a single block. Swipe to see some of Lucy's work followed by prints made on a previous workshop.

There's something special about turning the simplest materials into a print you'll be proud of.

In our Card Relief Printing Workshop, you'll discover how a piece of card, some ink, and a few simple tools can become a beautiful hand-printed design. Whether you're completely new to printmaking or looking to explore a different technique, this relaxed session is all about slowing down, experimenting, and enjoying the process.

Join us on Saturday 8th July from 10am -4pm at Isle Print Studio.

During the workshop you'll:
✂️ Learn the basics of card relief printing
🎨 Create your own original design and print a small edition to take home
☕ Enjoy a relaxed afternoon with tea, coffee, and good company
🌿 All materials and equipment are provided

Our workshops are kept small so there's plenty of time for individual guidance and creative exploration.

Card Relief Printmaking workshop

A Day of gentle meditative creativity! Come explore the potential of card relief print. The Great Bardfield artist Sheila Robinson was a master of the process! It involves cutting and tearing a piece of thick card to create a design, before sealing, inking and printing. It's collagraph without sticking any other textures on the matrix!

We stuck to a limited palette which allowed us to navigate this process in just a few hours.

Absolutely lovely results in a gorgeous setting, well done gang!
