Well, that's the last of the VPin cabinets getting ready to be shipped out to it's new owner. Just a few more legacy projects to finish up before we wind up for good. Should be done before Christmas.

As I slowly wind the business down I'm taking some time to finish off thoses projects I always said I'd do, but never did. Now that the lightguns are finally stable I'm building a Terminator themed shooter cab. Trimmed in black and chrome it should look pretty special when it's done. Just printing the graphics today.

Last Orders At The Bar!

After 16 years of building arcade cabinets the time has come for me to retire and move on to pastures new. I will be closing down CandyCabs over the next few months and relocating to start my next adventure. Between now and then I will be building a very limited number of cabinets to use up existing stock and make use of the specialist parts I’ve had manufactured.

So this message is for all of those who’ve said “I really want one of your cabinets”, “I’m saving up to buy the best”, “I am definitely gonna buy one, just need to make the space” etc etc.. This is fair warning that once I’m done with this final run of cabinets there will be no more.

The only models I will make are the ones pictured in this post. I have one Classic FOBT chassis left – the one I was saving for myself. I can build a maximum of 4 slimline 2 Player Cabs before I run out of metalwork. I can build a maximum of 4 widebody VPin cabs before I run out of sheet materials. I won’t be ordering any more.

Orders will be taken on a 1st come, 1st served basis and I will give priority to friends and family to give them an opportunity for the next week or so.

Beyond this limited run, I’ll be shutting down the workshop – so if anybody needs any tools, tech, arcade components etc then please let me know. As part of this I’ll be selling my large CNC machine which has been so instrumental in enabling me to develop our products over the past 18 months. I’m also open to offers to take the business as a going concern along with plans and designs for my complete range of cabinets, website, page, tools and tech etc…. Serious enquiries only please, this has cost many 10s of thousands to develop this far.

So, here it is, your last chance to own a brand new CandyCab cabinet built and delivered before Christmas 2021.

Thanks to my many happy customers over the years – without you none of this would have been possible.

Sad news today I’m afraid. Due to continuing supply chain issues caused by a combination of Covid-19 and Brexit we are going to have to stop accepting new orders for a while.

We have a number of orders already in the build queue, so our waiting list is much longer than usual – but with the uncertainty of key components being available it just doesn’t seem fair to keep people waiting.

I’m hopeful that things will resolve themselves over time, and we can get back to building the best Arcade and VPin cabinets available maybe later this year – but until then I’m gonna have to hit the Pause button.

Finally found the time to finish the new 4 Player control panel build. Really happy with the way it turned out too. We took on-board the feedback we recieved during the development process and would like to thank all those who contributed. Got to love those illuminated drinks holders! :)

Finally completed the last little bit of prototyping for the new 4-Player cabinet. Illuminated drinks holders now installed! With that done we are ready to go into full production mode on this model. Full build pictures coming soon :)

Just completed this build for a client who wanted a good “all round” emulation cabinet, but is also a big fan of Street Fighter, Tekken and Mortal Kombat.

On this build we used Sanwa JLF-TP-8YT joysticks and Suzo Happ Competition Convex buttons for the best possible performance on fighting games. He’s also got a trackball, twin Aim Trak light guns and a couple of Xbox 360 controllers too so that’s most options covered!

Really happy with the way it came out; I’ll be sorry to see it go!
