Why don’t I pierce clients who are pregnant?

This is a question I get asked from time to time, and the answer is simple: safety comes first.

While piercing is generally very safe when carried out correctly, getting a new piercing creates a wound that your body needs to heal. During pregnancy, your body is already working incredibly hard and goes through many changes that can affect healing, swelling, and overall comfort.

There is also a small risk of infection with any new piercing, even when the highest standards of hygiene and aftercare are followed. As a piercer, I never want to introduce an unnecessary risk during pregnancy.

Because of this, I choose to wait until after pregnancy before performing new piercings. It’s not because I don’t want to pierce you—it’s because I want to put your wellbeing and your baby’s wellbeing first. ✨

For me, the service doesn’t end when you walk out of the studio with your new piercing.

I’m always available for aftercare advice, questions, and check-ups throughout your healing journey. Whether you need reassurance, help troubleshooting, or just want me to take a look, I’m here to support you every step of the way.

I only use implant-grade titanium jewellery!!

I’m also not afraid to say no. Some piercings are anatomy-dependent, and if I don’t believe a piercing is suitable for your anatomy or will heal successfully, I won’t perform it.
