Here are a few more of the small oil painting studies I did over April to help me get comfortable with the medium, ranging from more realistic pieces to some more experimental ones. My favourites are the pomegranate and the pear, I love the colour choices and texture created in these 💗

In May I will be stepping up to some canvas pieces while sprinkling in the occasional little study to keep the practice going 💫

I’ve recently been teaching myself how to use oil paints, starting with these little fruit studies. Oils is a medium I’ve been avoiding for years because it seemed to have such a big learning curve, but to my joy (and slight annoyance) I’ve found that I really love it and it might just be my new favourite way to paint 💗

Please give me some inspo for other things to practice painting!
