Here's your chance to hear one of the very best jazz trumpeters in the land - playing at Inverness Jazz Club's next meeting on 30th August. Colin Steele is in much demand - he has 28 gigs in the month of August! We are so proud of the fact that his 28th is playing here at Wasps Creative Academy. Music starts at 2pm. This is going to be so special. Not to be missed.

We’re looking for some new faces and fresh ideas to join the Garioch Jazz Club committee and help us continue bringing brilliant live jazz to Inverurie and the wider Garioch community.

You don’t need to be a jazz expert, just enthusiastic, friendly and keen to get involved.

What’s the commitment?

🎷 GARIOCH JAZZ CLUB IS BACK! 🥁

We’re kicking off our new season with Fabrizio Conti & The Groove Merchants - bringing the energy of 1950s–70s hard bop from the Jazz Bar in Edinburgh, and Whigham’s - right here to Inverurie, with music inspired by Art Blakey’s Jazz Messengers, Lee Morgan, Freddie Hubbard, Horace Silver and more.

The band name is 'The Groove Merchants' and musicians playing at this gig are: Lorne Cowieson (trumpet), Mark Jones (sax), David Patrick (piano), Ali Watson (double bass) and Fabrizio Conti (drums)

What a fabulous way to end the season! Thanks to all who came to support, the committee, and the wonderful musicians and dancers! GARIOCH JAZZ CLUB PRESENTS

New Town Stompers

A fresh Edinburgh-based quintet bringing uplifting rags, traditional jazz and blues from the golden era of the 1900s–1930s.

Led by the brilliant Mike Summers - an experienced trumpeter and pianist originally from Melbourne, via London, and now based in Central Scotland - the band has quickly built a loyal following with its energetic, feel-good performances and authentic vintage sound. The wonderful Ali Affleck will be joining the band to create a very special six-piece show.

Expect toe-tapping tunes, swinging rhythms, dancers, and a proper night of classic jazz.

What a night at Garioch Jazz Club in Inverurie last Friday! 🎷
The Alan Laing Quintet absolutely brought the house down - slick, soulful, funny, and effortlessly brilliant from start to finish. The room was buzzing, the audience loved every second, and the energy was something special.

The drinks were flowing, the raffle had plenty of happy winners, and there was that unmistakable feeling of a proper community night - music, laughter, and great company all rolled into one.

Safe to say… we definitely want this band back.

But here’s the thing - clubs like ours only keep going if people show up. So next time, bring a pal (or three), spread the word, and let’s keep live jazz alive and thriving in Aberdeenshire. 💛
