From the sun-drenched landscapes of South Africa to the misty hills of Scotland, my art is a celebration of colour, connection, and the places that have shaped my soul.

And here is another poem about the waterfall from ArtHelper

The mountain is a temple of silence,
and the falling water is its prayer.
Mist rises like spirit from the stone,
softening the edges between earth and dream.
Something ancient lives here—
not in the cliff, not in the stream,
but in the hidden breath beneath them both,
calling the soul to listen.

My friendly ArtHelper suggested writing a poem about my painting. I thought it was quite interesting, so here it is : You rise from the grasslands
where the old winds speak in low voices,
where thorn trees keep their silence,
and the red earth remembers every footstep.
A spirit in stripes,
you stand between dusk and dawn,
between the song of the herd
and the hidden pulse of the wild.
Your eye holds the night fire,
your face carries the weather of the plains,
and around you
the land breathes in colour —
blue like distance,
gold like memory,
green like the first prayer of rain.
You are not only seen.
You are invoked.

Tomorrow marks the opening of the Art Society Inverness Annual Exhibition — something many of us have been looking forward to with real anticipation.

I thought I’d introduce the two paintings I’ll be exhibiting by sharing a little room mockup to tease your imagination and show how they might look in a home setting. I always enjoy imagining where a painting might live, and how it can bring a sense of light, calm, and atmosphere into a space.

These two works will be available for sale at the exhibition, and I hope they bring a little of the Highlands’ beauty into the room.

A Bicycle Full of Summer will be exhibited at the Art Society Inverness Annual Exhibition at WASPS Inverness from 8–15 August, where it will be available for purchase.
Painted in watercolour and inspired by a beautiful photograph taken by my friend Roberto, this piece celebrates the colours, warmth, and carefree spirit of summer. If you’re looking for an original artwork to bring light and character into your home, I’d love for you to see it in person.
If this painting speaks to you, please don’t wait too long—original artwork is one of a kind and, once sold, cannot be replaced.
I look forward to welcoming you to the exhibition. In the meantime, you can explore more of my original artwork at www.miracreativeartstudio.com. See less

I’m delighted to be taking part in the Black Isle Sketchers Exhibition at Rosemarkie Beach Café, where four of my original sketches will be on display and available for purchase from 14 July until the end of August.

Each piece was inspired by the beauty and atmosphere of Rosemarkie—the peaceful woodland of Fairy Glen, the timeless trees standing watch over the shoreline, and the ever-present seabirds that bring the beach to life. These are places I love to sketch, capturing not only what I see but also the feeling of being there.

The collection includes:

The Spirit of Fairy Glen – Watercolour, acrylic ink & pen
Echoes Through the Fairy Glen – Watercolour, acrylic ink & pen
Shoreline Companions – Watercolour
The Guardians of Rosemarkie Beach – Watercolour, acrylic ink & pen
If you’re visiting Rosemarkie this summer, I’d love for you to stop by the café, enjoy the exhibition, and perhaps find a piece that brings a little of the Black Isle home with you. I hope to see you there! 🎨🌿

A Basket Full of Summer

An old bicycle waits quietly in the morning sunshine, its basket overflowing with vibrant blooms. The flowers seem to tell stories of gentle rides through hidden lanes, warm breezes, and gardens bursting with colour. Some journeys aren’t about reaching a destination—they’re about collecting beautiful moments along the way. This watercolor was inspired by the photo of my friend Roberto amazing photographer from Sardinia

“Life, like a bicycle, is best enjoyed with flowers in the basket.” 🌸🚲
