Thank you to everyone who joined us for our first 2026 Scratch Night at Inverness Creative Academy 🌟

We had brilliant performances from artists Alina Ben Larbi, Caroline Burrows and a reading from Elliot Scott's play performed by Megan Lovat and Maggie Corbett.

The deadline for our fully funded theatre residency is tomorrow, 15th June, 9am.

🗓 Residency Dates: 3rd to 7th August

💷 Artist Fee £1,350 (2 weeks at £600, plus holiday pay)

👛 Development Budget £750 (materials and resources to support the residency)

There will be three separate groups across the Highlands, in
📌 Inverness Eden Court Theatre and Cinema
📌 Wick Lyth Arts Centre
📌 Ullapool Macphail Centre

They all start in August and run in the evenings, on Mondays, Thursdays and Tuesdays.

Come and join to explore & create theatre together with fellow creatives!

We're very excited to announce our Scratch Night artists for an evening at Inverness Creative Academy on 12th June!

This Scratch Night brings together intimate verbatim storytelling, historical drama inspired by the Highland diaspora, and an epic ballad of love and astrology.

Thank you so much Ewan and Becky from Company of Wolves for leading such a great workshop at Inverness Creative Academy!

A few snapshots of the workshop where participants got to experiment with movement, focusing on different parts of their bodies and devised small pieces in collaborative work.

One participant said: "10/10 workshop! Thank you for being so open, sensitive and collaborative with all of us and helping us to feel safe to explore!"

It's free to attend and part of our first artist in residence programme!

Elliot Scott will be reading from his draft play set in a small community in the Canadian bush at the end of the eighteenth century, drawing on a cassette recording of his Great Grandmother.

Our next residency will be in Ullapool at the Macphail Centre 🤩

The residency will be for 5 days from Monday 3rd August to Friday 7th August and will be supported by an industry mentor, who will be selected based on the nature of the resident artist’s practice.
