Ilkley Moornotes is a community choir based in Ilkley, West Yorkshire.

We sing primarily for our own pleasure, though also love our increasing number of public performances.

What a fabulous time we all had at our Christmas concert on Saturday. Here are some photos of us in full song as well as an exclusive BTS peek!

Thanks to everyone who braved the pouring rain to join us. Together we raised over £400 for Trussell, who provide emergency food and practical support to people in their hardest moments.

Catch us next at Fountains Abbey & Studley Royal, National Trust this Sunday 14th December 2-3pm, singing in the abbey cellarium.

Our final performance for 2025 is at the All Saints Ilkley Carols by Candlelight on Sunday 21st December at 7pm.

We spent a wonderful half hour singing our hearts out at the Martin House Children's Hospice Charity Christmas Fair on Saturday.

Our recent visit to Coutances to sing with the fabulous La Canterie was a huge success. We were hosted extremely comfortably in the homes of La Canterie singers and members of the Ilkley-Coutances Twinning Committee.
On the Saturday night, we were treated to a delicious home-made meal after both choirs came together for a joint concert in Coutances. On the Sunday, we sang together, this time in nearby Coutainville, where we were blown away by the acoustics of the venue.
Add to all this a day of sightseeing on the way there, taking in the British Normandy Memorial and Bayeux War Cemetery as well as the Bayeux Tapestry and on the Monday, visits to the Dior Museum, the town of Granville, the Cornille Havard Foundry and Hambye Abbey. Absolutely amazing trip! Thanks to the organisers and thank you to our hosts, La Canterie. See you all again soon!
