Thrilled to have been asked by Derby Museums to get involved with this project.
Make some time to draw, it’s really good for you!

Today we’re encouraging you to ‘Draw for Relaxation’ with Learning Facilitator Stevie. Be inspired by the patterns in the natural world and find yourself getting lost in all those natural lines.

You don’t need to consider yourself artistic, just grab a paper and pen/pencil and give it a go. We especially encourage younger people to take some time out to focus on themselves during this difficult period.

Haven’t done any drawing for a while? Me neither but now there is the time. So I’ve prepared this for tomorrow although not sure how long the 0.05mm fine liner pen will last. I didn’t bring my collection of black pens home before self isolating 😕

Planning is underway for two Surface Details exhibitions later this year. We are on the hunt for more artists/makers to be involved, specifically those using different materials and techniques for the existing project artists.... Whats this space!

It’s been nice to talk to visitors talk about each artists process, the materials and tools they use. In the current Surface Details Exhibition in the Lally Gallery we have filled the cabinets with a little selection of the makers favourite, or most used, tools. Don’t worry though, they are all spares, not like we could stop them creating until the exhibition finishes on the 20th December now could we!?!?!
