Today, we’re sharing some difficult news with our community.

As of 24 April 2026, The SPACE has been given notice to cease all activities at our venue at Emmanuel Church, Ilfracombe, following the decision that the building will be closing permanently due to safety concerns.

While this is not the outcome we had hoped for, we want to take a moment to focus on what truly matters—you. Since 2015, your support, creativity, and belief in what we do have shaped The SPACE into something far greater than just a venue. It’s a community, a shared passion, and a place where the arts have been able to grow and thrive.

We are incredibly grateful for every performance attended, every event supported, and every kind word along the way. You’ve made this journey meaningful.

Although we are saying goodbye to The SPACE, we remain hopeful and committed to the future of the performing arts in Ilfracombe.

This is not the end of our story, just the start of a new chapter.

Thank you for supporting us for the last decade.💙

IMPORTANT NOTICE

Unfortunately, Studio Theatre Ilfracombe's performances of The Habits this week have been affected by a technical issue we are unable to resolve.

This means tonight's (Wednesday 25/03) performance will no longer take place - All those who have booked will be contacted shortly.

Thursday 26 and Friday 27 Performances will take place at a different venue. This will be confirmed later this evening, and we will contact everyone who has booked. For those who originally had tickets for the opening night, we are releasing extra tickets for the later performances

We can only apologise that this has occurred and are working with the Studio Theatre team to ensure the remaining performances will go ahead at the new venue.

This is your last chance to nominate a person, group or organisation for a Flourishing Culture Award!

Whether it’s art, music, performance, literature, heritage, sport or any other form of cultural expression, the awards embrace all aspects of culture in North Devon and Torridge. This is your chance to celebrate people or groups who have had a positive impact on you through their cultural contributions.

The 2026 awards ceremony will take place at Barnstaple Hotel on Friday 13 March and will once again shine a light on the innovation, talent and hard work that thrive in our local communities and creative sectors. The event will be hosted by Seth Conway and features, music from Sorrelli Strings, North Devon’s Voice Choir, and a special appearance by Amena El-kindy - straight from London’s West End production of Les Misérables!

The Flourishing Culture Awards are sponsored by Devon Film Logistics, Dartington Crystal, Pearce Construction, Landmark Theatres, North Devon College, North Devon Council and Torridge District Council. We believe that sponsorship will have a lasting impact, not only in celebrating the achievements of those within the creative sector but also in furthering the economic development of our region.
