CAPTURING THE MOMENT | HENRI DE TOULOUSE-LAUTREC 🎨

On 9 September 1901, Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec died at just 36. Yet in his short life, he became one of the great chroniclers of movement, atmosphere and modern life.

From dancers caught mid-step to the electric energy of the Moulin Rouge, Toulouse-Lautrec wasn’t simply recording what he saw – he was capturing the feeling of a fleeting moment.

And that idea still resonates with artists today.

At the gallery, Christian Hook is particularly brilliant at playing with movement. His fragmented, expressive figures seem to emerge, shift and dissolve before our eyes, creating the sensation of catching a fleeting glimpse rather than a perfectly fixed image.

Because sometimes, great art isn’t about capturing a moment exactly as it is.

It’s about capturing how it feels before it passes. ✨

Danielle O'Connor Akiyama's new collection, Steadfast is here!

Three captivating new embellished box canvas editions, these beautifully layered works celebrate steadfast love through luminous colour & fluid organic forms.

Rich in emotion, beauty, and collectability, Steadfast combines a powerful narrative with striking visual appeal.

“This trilogy is a celebration of steadfast love that stands strong through the trials of life and still wears its golden crown with pride. The inky depths of a midnight sky are drenched in colour and lighten slightly towards the horizon. The rhythmic golden horizontal ground creates a balance to the lofty sky with her mysterious mountains in the background. The waterfall adds to the drama of height in this landscape. We are protected on this journey forward with symbols of blue bubbles of protection and red markings of continuance.
The sky is studded with stars and makes one sense the height and breadth of the relational journey."

Available now from Magenta Fine Art- arriving at the gallery this week DM or call 01271 862590 for more info on how to secure!

It embodies a range of emotions, from the delight in discovering underwater splendors to the respect and fear of the ocean's depths and mysteries. Through his art, Jared seeks to convey the complex feelings associated with being in the water, aiming for a mindful, immersive, and calming experience.

👑 FREDDIE MERCURY. ICON. REBEL. ORIGINAL. ⚡️

Today we celebrate what would have been Freddie Mercury’s 80th birthday.

Born Farrokh Bulsara in Zanzibar to Parsi-Indian parents, Freddie transcended borders, genres and expectations to become one of the most recognisable figures in popular culture.

He was flamboyant, fearless and gloriously unapologetic — challenging conventions around masculinity, sexuality and what a rock star could be. For many, he remains an enduring LGBTQ+ icon and a symbol of individuality, freedom and self-expression.

And like all true icons, Freddie has been interpreted and reinvented through art.

At Magenta Fine Art, we’ve had the privilege of showcasing Freddie-inspired works by Pete Humphreys, Bram Reijnders, Jim Dowie and Craig Alan — four very different artists, united by the same irresistible subject.

Because some people become more than famous.

They become symbols.

Happy Birthday, Freddie. ❤️

The show must go on. ⚡️
